There is a TEXTRUMOR TEXTthat NOSA will be losing their fields in two years because UNO is going to take back the land to expand the university. Maybe this is why we are seeing the Lafreniere/NOSA merger Anyone know anything about this?

New administration at UNO wants to have a football team at UNO and will need fields for parking. The announcement will be this spring or next fall. UNO head is an expert on economic matters, and maintains that 5-6 home football games with 15,000-20,000 fans will generate x dollars for UNO, which wants to be on par with Lafayette, Monroe, La Tech etc. Even if you get beat 49-7 (or 7-1 to a soccer fan) by LSU and Miami on national TV, can't buy such invaluable exposure. Stay tuned.
New Orleans can't attract industry, but football is an industry and people will pay money to watch a 7-1 rout. Think about a soccer match when one team is down 4-0 at the half.

Thanks for the info. How do they expect to have football, when Tulane is having a hard time getting 5,000. He may be a top economic person, but common sense tells you that we only have so many $'s to spend on recreation. Look at the attendance for the Zephry's
