Well mine isn't exactly fast, but I have as my fastest mile, a 6:34 (+ or - 1). My fastest second mile, though, also bad, is a 13:39.

I am training for a long distance race right now and after that I think I might try to break into the 4 minutes.

At Lafayette High School, we used to do the Cooper's Run as part of our evaluation during tryouts, which is how far you can run in 12 minutes...Anybody else use this?

In High School, I ran on a mile relay team in 1970 and we were running in the 3:21 range. That is an average of about 50.25 seconds per quarter. That record has stood for 35 years.. ;D On that team, we had a guy named Russell Saltzman, who was the State Class A Champion in the mile. He ran a 4:36. I also had the privilege of running the 220 yard dash against Tommy Cassanova, who attended Notre Dame in Crowley and eventually ended up playing for the Cincinnati Bengals...He beat me...
