i LOVED Ballack at Bayern. I went to see a game a few years back when i was in germany and he was outstanding. Now he is just another Chelsea player to add to the already star studded roster. I dont like the way that our sport is being transformed. Players used to play for the glory of their home clubs, but now they will play for whoever dishes out the most $$. No more pride, just personal gain. We need more Shearers in our time who turn down the big offers to move to big clubs, and instead move to their hometown clubs where they will play their guts out for the glory of the club, not for the name on the back of the jersey.

I find that very unfair. Ballack has had an amazing career. He doesnt have that many years left and wants to play his club football in a different country.
When Man U were on top a few years back, if Ballack wanted to go to England, he would have joined Man U. However, now its Chelsea who are back to back champions. He's on a free transfer, and Chelsea have been the most active to get him. Man U were giving £90,000 a week to Roy Keane....if they wanted Ballack, they could offer him as much as £120,000 a week easily.
The moral story i see here is the fact that a player has finished his contract. In the last few years, Milan and Real Madrid have come calling, but he's stayed loyal to his contract. Now that his contract is up, he wants to move abroad. Lets get real - he was never going to join a Tottenham, or a Osasuna, or a Fiorentina. It was always going to be a world class team, for this world class player. Ballack has been a model professional all his life. Why should it suddenly change overnight?

I know, teams like Tottenham Hotspur, who do they think they are??? They have only won the FA cup 8 times, and won three major European trophies. If i were a Brentford fan, I'd be right brased off, I would you know.
Everyone needs to sign for Chelsea because they are world class........these last 2-3 years. Long may they reign supreme over all other London clubs who are obviously not world class, unlike Chelsea who are the world classiest of the world class.
I sense the reply already, he skipped Man Utd, because they were not good enough, etc, etc. Then, with Euro prestige the foremost concern, because surely it was not money, he should have joined Arsenal.........or even Gretna??
Bring it Romario11:)

Ballack hasnt won the Champions League. Chelsea havent won the Champions League. Ballack has said that he wants to win the CL.
If you argue that Chelsea are a team with no history, then you cant say that Ballack has joined the biggest club. Thus making it MORE of a challenge. He's come on a free for gods sake. All the usual jargon cannot apply here.
If you say Chelsea is the new Real Madrid, then Jose Mourinho is obviously your most admired coach.

It is true what Ronaldo is saying like I will start calling them a real top team when they win in europe and not just in England, they cant win all the cups in England let alone any in European competition. Manchester united are considered one of the top teams because they got the famous treble, chelsea will be real big when they do this if they do this

I hope not. I think if united and liverpool play consistent then they both have a chance to win it next year.
