Ronaldinho hands down... his impact on other teams both physically and mentally is outragoeus. He has skills like no other, HE ISNT EVEN in his prime yet, and he is flat out amazing. especially the goal that gave Barca the win over AC Milan in champions lg last year i believe, that was simply STUNNING. because of him barca will win la liga this year, and brazil will win the world cup in '06 and most likely '10. i swear this guy can see things happen 4 to 5 seconds before they do, just watch him play. P.S. SORRY i like ronaldinho if u cant tell

You think Ronaldinho is incredible...get some old clips of Ronaldo...from his inter days...pure class...better than ronaldinho is now As i said, he hasnt even reached his prime yet! Im not blastin Ronaldo, cuz he is one of the greatest strikers that has ever played or will play soccer, but Ronaldinho owns all over the ENTIRE field. Ronaldo works his magic in a 35 yd section of the field. Ronaldinho works his magic on the whole field. AND you said OLD CLIPS of ronaldo... EXACTLY, ronaldo is gettin old and he is at the end of his prime, Brazil needs a new leader for a team and my vote is for Ronaldinho. Ronaldo is the best clinical finisher in the world, if he gets inside your 18, your screwed, but i rarely see him blasting shots from 30 yds out and making them like Ronaldinho. HELL BRAZIL HAS AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OF HAVING THEM BOTH ON THE SAME TEAM.

I'm glad no one picked Beckham not a big fan... great ball striker but I don't believe he is of caliber of some of the names listed below - fan of his cleats though. ;D Obviously there are: Pele Maradona Ronaldo Cruyff Beckenbauer Roberto Carlos - Anyone who can bend a ball around the wall like that is world class in my book (a lot of you have probably see the shot) Now down to some of the younger, or less looked at talent. In my opinion Oliver Kahn is the best goal keeper in the game right now. (Just play FIFA 2005... ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to score on ) Henry is remarkable... his speed is almost unmatched, his touch is... wow... cant think of words, along with that... he is an excellent finisher. I agree with CoachRay best player in the world right now. C. Ronaldo.... 19 years old, the kid has some serious skills. Now on to the controversial one.... Freddy Adu Twerk19 you hit the nail on the head.... give the 'child' 4 or 5 years, and dont be surprised to see him go overseas to play English Premier... I won't...

Pele Pele Pele it can't be said enough. Henry and Roberto Carlos nor the great DREDG(i belong with those names right?) would even know what to do with a soccer ball if Pele hadn't did it all. If pele were in his prime now then brazil wins three straight world cups. and he'd get a golden boot

I wouldn't consider your players less looked at talent...when speaking of less looked at talent why not consider Elano from Santos or Ricardo Queresma from FC Porto or Xabi Alonzo from Pool or Luis Garcia from Pool or Diego from FC Porto or Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal or The American, Jonothan Spector from Man U, or Darren Fletcher from Man U or Christopher Eagles from Man U or Luke Steele from Man U on loan at Coventry or Robinho from Santos moving to Real Madrid or Gabriel Heinze from Man U...and the least goes on and on...I personally don't think that Mr. Adu has any better chance of being a ledgendary talent than the players mentioned above there is so much talent in the wide world of football that i don't believe that one good talent should get any more attention than another

You lot have so much expectation on Freddy Adu. You all seem to think he's going to be the best ever player to ever play the game.
So do people think that Freddy Adu will be compared to Pele sometime in his career? Remember that Pele performed amazing in a major tournament at the age of 17, only 2 years older than Freddy is now.
I certainly believe that he will flop if/when he comes to Europe. I just dont think he'll be able to stand the heat on a european field, so he'll get out of the WARNING VIRUS.

First off, I am getting the vibe from you ronaldo that you just do not like America. Secondly, when did anyone ever say that he will be the best ever? Just wondering if you realized you were putting words in people's mouths.

Hello there Mr. ROnaldo. Guess what? MLS is pertty rough if you look at it.....Adu was slammed to the ground in the semi-final match this year and was down for a while. Guess what? He got back up and played amazingly...he had an assist after that. And then he was slammed again. He sprained his back and played the rest of the match. Also, have you seen Freddy Adu? He may only be 5'8'' but the guy isfreakn built. He took his shirt off after they advanced to the next round and his chest is friggn huge. I think Adu will do just fine in Europe. In fact, I can see him going over the pond on loan before his contract is even up. Adu is going to thrive. Watch a little MLS and see a 15 year old juke out almost every player on the field...many of who come from Europe and some who will be going over there. so go away if you don't like it...

msc 18 - I did my research on some of the overlooked players on your list, those are some top notch players, DEFINATLY overlooked, but I would not consider them "World's Greatest" as the name of the thread is... well named... lol That website with the highlight tapes are something else. Beckenbauer's first touch is out of this world. He could be lethal from any position on the feild with that touch. Ronaldo in his prime was a joy to watch, as well as the Henry. Another player everyone failed to mention is Totti, the star of the Italian National team. If you have a Media Desktop (KaZaa, Morpheus, Ares, ect... Download some highlight films... Totti has one that is close to 5 minutes long, as well as some with various strikers.) In my opinion, if a player is the one of the greatest in the world, they must first be on their national team, obviously. As well as be a stand out on that team; the reason that team advances or does as well as they do in International play. Last but certainly not least: AMERICAN PRIDE!!TAKE IT TO 'EM FREDDY!

...players with the potential to be great...also Adriano from Inter is the obvious replacement to Ronaldo in the Brasilian national team...the way he plays, body type, etc...resembles a young ronaldo...already he has become a dominant force in Serie A and most definantly will develop into a great player later in his career

Oh--LHS...sorry about the old guy thing--no offense intended. Today is my 41st birthday, so I qualify in the subgeezer category. Ronaldo--I might take you--but only to have your hot wife on the sidelines! By the way, how does a portly ugly Brazilian with a gap in his teeth land a supermodel? Thank heaven for Ronaldinho, or you would be the ugliest Brazilian on the planet. DANIELA CICARELLI BEFORE I USED TO LOVE BRAZIL, BUT NOW!!! Well I would be angry that people talk about my wife, but we're not married yet. I still enjoy the thrills of the Madrid women. You know when Roberto Carlos, Becks (when Posh is in England) and I throw a party in Madrid, its never about soccer
