There are no real soccer fields or a suitable soccer complex in the area. Most games are played in high school stadiums in the area which habve little room to be made wider . Tad gormley allows the greatest width and length combined; and like Shreve, Jesuit likes the largest field possible. In addition, moving the game to a field not used during the year would be surrendering some of the homefield advantage. The field is not deplorable, just not in top shape.

futbol16, sorry for the confusion, but I would hope you get the drift of the original statement. Jesuit, the team, has proven themselves over and over (for those of you who tend to read a little too into things).

actually, the largest soccer field in the state is at the nosa complex, field #4...and before you ask, no, i don't know the exact dimensions (80 x 120? ot thereabouts), but heard it discussed by refs at nosa tournaments many times
unfortunately, not one of the lighted fields, and there are no stands

Just to clarify, I didn't say Jesuit had a weak defense. I said their backline is the weak point of their team. That means, their defense compared to other teams is not as superior as their mid and strikers are. I have watched this team, I also know what their record is and I could look up on their website how many goals they scored and how many were scored against them. I have seen Jesuit pressured in their defensive third and they get back on their heels and miss clears, etc. It's the same way Jesuit's offense messes up other team's defenses. We are going to pressure you full force and see if you don't mess up. I think if you pressure Jesuit's back line with as much pressure as they bring to your defense, I think you can beat them. If you are worried about the pressure they are bringing and keep men back and never pressure their defense, you have already lost the game. As far as Jesuit fans posting on this forum.....pretty much no N.O. team has many posters on this forum. They are all over at nola, so it's not like they are all keeping their mouths closed and leaving it on the field, they are out there, just not here. As for coaches not letting players post on this forum or others, I agree. Players should worry about what is going to happen on the field, leave the forums to us fans to speak out and cheer, and argue, and brag, etc. It's still a game and it's still fun. Too much fun, sometimes.

that means that the NOSA fields are actuall regulation size for International games...I think. If so, then woohoo for Luizerana. I didn't think there was one regulation pitch in the entire state.

I don't have a problem with players posting, but I don't think they should be running their mouths and talking trash.
As for NOLA...I don't think anyone posts over there anymore. There'll be a new post once every few days over there.

Actually the Northwestern State girls have 3 regulation sized (120x80) fields with real nice grass. They sometimes allow the club team to use them but not often. They could be close to the nicest fields in the state. And enough seats for a few hundred people. with scoreboard huge backstops for both goals and a wooden fence enclosing the main one. They are trying to create that home field advantage.

do the northwestern girls fields have any bleachers?

yes the have lots of bleachers. They can put bleachers on both sides of the best field until 20 yards from each end line. I think they did it only twice. For a tourny and a Late 1st place game.
