No, it ain't free, Ostrya. You are paying for it. Nothing is free. The difference is that others in private pay twice. They build a new Gym for Parkview and a new school for Dutchtown just to pick two.

BRHS doesn't even have a faculty coach for soccer. McKinley doesn't either. Both have volunteer coaches. Are there faculty coaches anywhere? Not here in Cenla. They're all volunteers, boys and girls coaches, and we're mighty grateful to have them.

In my experience the "paid volunteers" are paid an amount that qualifies them as volunteers.

And every time I go to Dutchtown, I think my tax money has been well spent.

The school districts all get money from the state.
The school looks nice, though I haven't been in it, and the stadium is impressive.

Oh I follow you...school districts do get money from the state, but far as I know...and I'm by no means an authoritarian on the subject....the school would not have been passed without extra millages etc. placed on Ascension Parish recidents...the most recent vote was for money to be used to build 3 or 4 new elementary schools....
And it is a nice school we are lucky to have it....but don't think all the parish schools are as nice... the middle school across the street that most people do not notice ( I work there)....it was build during the Works Progress Administration in 1937 by FDR's New Deal programs....haha...talk about a CONTRAST...

Does that mean I buy a couple of nails with my Tanger purchases? I've been to soccer games played at the middle school back before the new high school was built. Hey, it's the teachers that are important, not the buildings.

haha..thanks...
I can tell you one thing....they've gotten their money's worth out of that building for sure....and probably should have saved enough over the years to build the new high school after using all the old buildings that they use.
but I agree....
