Agree with laffan about outcome, but STM and SSA will win by larger margins (at least 3 each).

Agree with laffan about outcome, but STM and SSA will win by larger margins (at least 3 each). No way. Barbe is a much better team and SSA won't put more than 2 on them. Hey, they may even get an upset.

STM over Dominican - but I look for this one to possibly be closer than expected 3-1
Barbe over SSA in an upset - why? I don't think SSA has been challenged too much in the last 2 to 3 games, and that will give Barbe the edge they need - 1-0.

STM by 2 and SSA by 4. You have to see SSA to appreciate them. Size, speed and skill all over the field. Barbe's big field will benefit SSA.

STM over Dominican 2-0 If you haven't seen STM play do yourself a favor and go see this one or make a trip to Shreveport. Not to discredit Dominican, but STM is as good as it gets in LA this year
Barbe over SSA 2-1 maybe in OT SSA may be the best team here but Barbe seems to have that something that teams need to make it happen in the playoffs (California maybe?? Who knows??)
I will say this...There are a few teams that could have been playing this week that are not, but despite the ridiculous process that gets us here, the 4 semi final teams are as good as any in the state. Good luck to all, should be great soccer!

I have seen STM play, and know they played tight with Barb and with several other teams during the year... anything can happen and Dominican is playing awesome. It should be a great game! Barb and SSA will be a good game as well. SSA has had a great playoff season. You have to see them play! Barb is playing well too. But not sure if they are up to this SSA team. But can't wait to hear the results. PLEASE post, both these results asap, if anyone can.

I was looking for something in a post a while back and ran across a comment cajunref made on Jan 23. "Here is hoping that Barbe goes deep in the playoffs and maybe have another shot at STM. " Well, cajunref, you are a good predictor!

Predictions: STM over Dominican 2-1. SSA over Barbe 2-0. Agree with laffan about outcome, but STM and SSA will win by larger margins (at least 3 each). STM by 2 and SSA by 4. You have to see SSA to appreciate them. Size, speed and skill all over the field. Barbe's big field will benefit SSA. All I can say is: How bout them Barbe Lady Bucs!! I shouldn't expect observer to give my Barbe girls any love with the history we have had with Acadiana, but come on, SSA by 4...... On to the game.... A huge crowd at the Barbe Soccer Complex to see 2 of the top teams in the State with most expecting SSA to come away with the win (even some of my Barbe Parents). But not me.... Call it a mission, call it fate, but the Barbe girls are playing TEAM soccer and playing good enough to win. First 15 minutes was very back and forth and with 20 minutes into the first half, the keeper misplays a ball and Taylor Boyett makes a move and has a wide open shot for the 1-0 lead. I really thought she was going to miss, she was that wide open. Next 20 minutes of the 1st half was back and forth and Barbe takes the halftime lead 1-0. One moment in the first half, SSA had 3 point blank shots from inside the 6 that hit the keeper, the cross bar, and the post and how the ball didn't find the back of the net, I am still trying to figure that out.... Second half was mostly SSA and Barbe played defense to hold on. SSA had 14 corner kicks, yes 14 and failed to capitalize on any... This game was much like the Lafayette game with Barbe getting an early game and holding on for the 1-0 win. Please, everyone pick STM over Barbe and pick it to be a 5-0 STM win. Call it Carma, call it voodoo, but Barbe is finding ways to win. The state title game will be a great game and I hope all get a chance to see not necessarily the best 2 teams in the state, but the 2 best teams playing in the state. I love these Barbe girls and would not change a thing about the season we are having. I said months ago that Barbe might hit February with a .500 record but no one in the state wants a piece of this team. How many teams enter the state title game at 12-9-3 but playing great TEAM Soccer.

Barbe girls have got to be the luckiest team in the world right now. How can you have three shots on goal inside the 6 hit the crossbar and not go in? It was like there was an invisible barrier around the goal.
GOOD LUCK at the final game.

From what I have heard about the game, the "invisible barrier" around the goal was the entire Barbe team packing the box after they scored.

Barbedad20, my prediction was based on games played prior to the semi's. Acadiana had lost to SSA by 4 and Acadiana had won 2 close games against Barbe so the natural progression was to pick SSA by a comfortable margin. Please don't forget that I picked Barbe to beat LHS. Congratulations on the win and good luck against STM.

STM 2 Barb 0 Can't imagine Barb can pull this one off too. Heard the Barb SSA game was very one sided with SSA domonating both halfs. And that was from the New reporter in Lake Charles. Either way, Barb found the net. And a "W" is a win. So congrats Barb. There is no "MICE" in shreveport, so STM may have the advantage. Can't wait to hear how this one pans out. Good luck to both teams.

Barbedad20, congratulations to your team for making the finals. The girls must have done a great job this season after returning from So. California.
Once again, your players and parents were great representatives for your soccer program and we were glad that you were able to make the trip and participate in our tournament.
Our Lady Knights qualified for our CIF Division I playoffs this year. Unfortunately, after taking a 2-1 halftime lead in our first match, we gave up 3 goals and were knocked out.
