Dear fellow refs, if you happen to be a fan at a game and you know the crew working, please don't yell out the names of the crew members if you disagree with a call.

Good point, although most of the time the teams have seen you so much they know who you are as well.

Yes. I remember a referee yelling my name out at an LSU match for a good call. The student section picked it up and there were chants with my name in it for the rest of he match. ;D

Yes.[glow=red,2,300] I remember a referee yelling my name out at an LSU match for a good call[/glow]. The student section picked it up and there were chants with my name in it for the rest of he match. ;D oh please, like you've ever made a good call ;D

The student section picked it up and there were chants with my name in it for the rest of he match. ;D oh please, like you've ever made a good call ;D Seems like I remember someone telling me about a game happyjack refereed many years ago behind the State police gym in BR. There was a fight on the field and in his zeal to break it up he would up rolling around on the ground with the fight participants. Is that true? Of course now the term "rolling around on the ground" would definitely be much easier for happyjack to accomplish these days

I hope you are speaking of the 1980 Hockey Team that upset the russians since the 84 team did poorly.....

That was when I was young and foolish, a mere grade 8 referee with zest and zeal for the game. And a wise referee said to me after "that was either the bravest or most stupid thing i've ever seen, i'm not sure which. And why are you only a grade 8?"
