A message from Sam Snow,
Director of The Louisiana Soccer Association
“The Louisiana Soccer Association looks forward to co-hosting the Chris Nedelcovych Soccer Foundation camp at Tulane University. Amongst the summer soccer camp scene this camp is truly unique. Having a National Staff Coach from the K.N.V.B. and two Louisiana Soccer Association State Staff Coaches working with the apprentice coaches and campers is a wonderful concept. “Youth Coaching Youth,” will provide a fun and exciting week for developing the youngsters in camp and for jump starting the next generation of coaches. We are proud to be a part of this dynamic opportunity for our Louisiana soccer family.”
The CNSF/LSA Youth Coaches Residential Camp will be held at Tulane University July 6-11. The camp can accommodate a maximum of 30, 12-14 year old co-ed travel or rec. plus players. These campers will enjoy the daily and personal attention from a Dutch National Staff Coach and some of the most qualified members of the Louisiana State Staff. The cost to these campers is $450.
The Camp will also accommodate up to 16, 17 – 21 year old co-ed coaching candidates. These candidates will observe the staff during the daily sessions, assist as needed and conduct carefully designed practices of their own while under the watchful eye of the senior staff members. These youth coaching candidates will be selected through a two part application process and will attend the Camp on a full Scholarship paid for by the CNSF. At the end of the week they will be receive a Louisiana Soccer Association E license and a certificate from the KNVB which is the equivalent of the official Dutch course “Youth Soccer Coach.”
The Camp is modeled on the very successful Maryland State Youth Soccer Associations International Weeks Program. The Camp brings together a highly qualified staff, motivated and dedicated youth coaches and skillful players to create a learning experience that is truly unique. Residents that live outside of Louisiana are welcome to apply as campers or scholarship candidates.
