Some really good deals on new kayaks at LL Bean. All items the website, including kayaks, are 30% off. There is a shipping discount also. Website with all their kayaks: www.llbean.com/llb/search?storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&init=1&freeText=kayak&Go= What to do. Pick out your kayak. Fill in your address and email address. Before they ask for your credit card info, they will ask for any promotional codes. You first use: JPA4393 - for 30% off. After you submit that code, enter 3039329 - for shipping discount. I did a trial run to see how much their Tarpon Angler Kayak by Wilderness Systems® Regular price is $1050. Using the codes, the total (shipping and tax included in this price) was $759.30. LL Bean has the best return policy in the business, too.

If you google map directions for L.A. to Korea they tell you to kayak across the pacific. So this may come in handy.

Bit much for me. The most I've done in a day was about ten miles. But there's a guy who has done solo trips from the Yucatan in Mexico to the mouth of the Mississippi River. That's pretty crazy. www.seacajun.com/yucatan/ to see his trip.
