new iberia should be ranked much higher. only 8th for beating number 7 St. Thomas Moore and number 5 Northshore. Don't get me wrong, im thankful but i find it a poor ranking for the results that they put out during the season.

I think NISH looks good right at about 8. Great year for them. However, I feel like CHNI should be in the top ten, having lost to Country Day 3-2 on a last second shot, literally no time left in stoppage time. Still a great year and congrats to all the state champs.

I might have ranked certain teams differently, but the ranking should take into account both season-long results and end-of-season form.
If you go by wins against top-10 teams, some of these teams have questionable season-long records. However, just because Haynes (for instance) won games against Newman, Country Day, Episcopal Acadiana, and played Ben Franklin and Westminster (COPA) to the wire, doesn't mean that Haynes (for instance) should be judged a top-10 team.
In Div-III, I mostly wonder why St. Martain's is ranked in the top 10. Their results against top-10 teams left a lot to be desired, lots of big losses, etc. But honestly, is it that important to be ranked 8th rather than 12th?

Catholic New Iberia should be 1 in every poll. Haynes 2.
I like the rankings. NISH sitting at number 8 is great, but I still question CD in DIII. They were great, I just don't know if they were better than STA. But its only one spot. Great season, very accurate final rankings.
I believe that NISH could take most of the bottom half of the overall rankings, or at least play them to the final minutes.

LOL - add the digit "1" in front of both numbers in that statement and you might be close.

LOL - add the digit "1" in front of both numbers in that statement and you might be close. In all honesty, Haynes did make a great playoff run, pretty much destroying ESA which I was actually surprised to see. Congrats. I don't think that either of us deserve that spot though, but who knows. Maybe next year.

Congratulations on your season.
Haynes did play a total of seven games against the Div-III quarterfinalists, final- eight teams, going 2-5, two losses being close affairs ... not too shabby.
I'll take that accomplishment and be very content.

NISH should not be ranked any higher than they are now, I still think they are on the bubble to be in the top 10 due to the lack of production offensively. Backline the only reason NISH can compete with the bottom half is because the D1 competition had a huge drop off this year with only 3 1/2 real powerhouse teams...Fontainebleau was a much better team than NISH...

I agree with the change in competion but those rankings reflect the 2010-2011 soccer year, not 2009-2010 year. NISH offensive struggles shouldn't be punish, instead i think that they should be rewarded because they won with whatever goals that they could get. In my opinion that marks a top 5 team.

On behalf of NISH Soccer, I would like to thank the voters for the recognition. It means a lot to our program. When I started NISH Soccer fourteen years ago I never imagined finishing in the top ten, much less two years in a row. We took our lumps for many years and are now where I did not dream we would be. To those newer programs that are struggling, hang in there, it will get better if you have resilient kids.
As to the ranking, ever the realist, I believe we should not have been ranked higher. NISH Soccer supporters should be thrilled with the honor.

priusplural... NISH top 5? that's being a bit generous....you have to be a little realistic...As far as the New Iberia soccer in general...they are finally able to compete with the Acadiana teams and compete at a higher level than years before....It's good to see growth in a community that 10 years ago soccer was like a foreign language...expect more great players and more noise coming out of the New Iberia area...
