That's ridiculous Acadiana... ya'll need to step it up or I seriously don't think ya'll deserve to be in the top 10.

First off, Can Westgate score on a throw in? I thought it had to be touched by someone first. I am not sure about that rule in highschool. Secondly, I can say now, that the comparisons made between Lafayette last year and Acadiana this year, no longer hold water. Lafayette lost twice to Sulphur last year. Acadiana has now lost to Barbe and Westgate back to back. NISH beat Westgate. I am absolutely at a loss for words.

Acadiana did play well and did hit the post 4 times westgate had 7 shots on goal i think. The goal with about 17 mins left in the game on a throw-in. It was punched up by the keeper then put in by a westgate player. Acadiana look to be very flat at times but at other times they looked very impressive. Westgates defense played very well and came up with the shutout. Good luck to acadiana in the rest of district play

No doubt the biggest upset this year.
Was it the biggest upset ever in Louisiana HS soccer?

1998 undefeated Northshore team loses its first game of the season in the first round of the playoffs to De La Salle who was one of the 2 WCs that year. DLS lost in the semis to Acadiana 2-1. AHS went on to beat Lafayette in the finals 1-0 that year.

</ I'm number 4 that play on defense \>
The Rams had me on my toes all night long. I did save 2 goals for my team. Acadiana have madd talents and skills. I would love to see them play their game that is well respect around the state. They control the ball more than us. Bigg Ups to my team tonight. deuce deuce [please don't think i'm talkin' trash]

Great game, V! You get my vote as defensive MVP (with a close second from T--#5). Your saves prevented what should have been easy goals. AHS went to sleep. WHS woke up. Who'd of thunk? AHS handled the ball well, but didn't look like the team that beat WHS 6-0 in November. Wilks played well, but couldn't get the ball in the net. Took some great shots, was very difficult to tackle, and he had numerous successful tackles. #4 played very well, too. (not ignoring any AHS players, just pointing out two who stood out IMHO).

Acadiana 's attack came in spurts during the game...Sometimes it broke down, other times it took great play by WHS' defense and keeper...Great game by the Rams...

I, like most others, am at a complete loss for words. Congrats to Westgate.
I don't think you can say "Great game by the Rams," though.

well mcscruff now that i have had a (sleepless) night to think about this here's what i think. this friday we will see what this ram team is made of. if they are truely a playoff team that can make a run in the playoffs they need to prove it against sulphur. it is time for a major gut check, will they come out flat, will they so the heart we all know they have, who knows. the only ones who can right this ship are the players. i don't think anyone who knows the players on this team can argue that when they are on they can play with anyone in the state. lets see if they can finally "be on".
i do know one thing i have not given up on them! i know what they are capable of! keep your heads up and work hard rams, it is time to prove to everyone what you can accomplish!!

Man, goat, I thought the Westgate game was the game in which the Rams were supposed to show what they were made of. If they lose this Friday will you say that the NISH game next Tuesday is the real test?

Also, do you think Acadiana will even make the playoffs?

I think Acadiana will make the playoffs, they still have to play Cro, Sulphur, and Lafayette again, but if they win just one of those games, they will be at least 4th place(probably). I think this game against Sulphur is huge for the Rams. Sulphur has a good defense. I would say even better than Westgate. Plus this game is at Sulphur. That is a very difficult place to play, especially when you travel the same day. Hopefully, Acadiana will pull it together before playoffs, because I think they would represent district 3 better than Barbe. But then again, if Barbe makes it into the playoffs, I guess they are a better team that Acadiana at that time. Anyway, kind of rambling. Hopefully Acadiana can find their game before Fri. or else it will be a long night and a long bus ride home.

wow mcscruff your really hard on me and the rams. last time i checked they were still tied for second in the district. they have loss two games in which they dominated in every way but the score. i think both the barb and westgate supports would agree with that. and remember one big thing THEY HAVEN'T BEEN BEATEN BY YOUR BELOVED LAFAYETTE LIONS!
i really thought the westgate game would be there game to make a statement however it wasn't. remember westgate has beat 2 teams that are tied for second in this district but i don't see you blasting cro. like i said in my last post it is all up to the players, i think they will right the ship and make a nice run late in district and the playoffs.

goat, I don't mean to be hard on you, but I am absolutely shocked that Acadiana lost last night. There is definitely something going on with that team. I just can't see how Acadiana could have lost that game with all of the talent that they have. You're right, Lafayette has not beaten Acadiana this year, but they are definitely taking care of their business and beating all of the teams that they should beat. We will see what happens next Friday, but that game is really beginning to not even matter as far as the district race goes. I really hope Acadiana can get it turned around because I like a lot of their players, even though I don't like Acadiana, if you know what I mean. I was mostly having fun with you over the past few weeks. I always assumed that Acadiana would get it together, and I just liked pressing your buttons. But now, this is serious.
I was half joking when I asked if Acadiana would even make the playoffs, but I was half serious. I mean, we always assumed that they would, but we also assumed that they would beat Barbe and Westgate. Look where those assumptions have led us. Now, Acadiana has Sulphur, Carencro and Lafayette (all really tough games), NISH, who can pack the box with the best of them and look for goals off of the counter, and Comeaux, who has some talent and is capable of giving Acadiana a good game. I think Acadiana will still make the playoffs, but it could turn into a dogfight.

hey mcscruff i like pushing your buttons too. i know you are a fan of dist.3 and you support the kids from the lafayette area just like me. i spoke with a player today,(guess who), and i know the kids know how important the rest of this season is. as far as the district championship, well lafayette is in the driver seat. the only way acadiana can win it is if they get a lot of help from other teams, and i don't think that will happen. as far as next friday goes, i just want to get past this friday and next tuesday. then i will think about the lafayette game. keep the post comming because i do enjoy them, even the ones ment to push my button.
