For our middle school teams, they use a dual ref system. Not a big fan but I get the reasoning and the other team is playing with the same refs so no big deal. I have a question about positioning. Last year each ref pretty much acted like a center ref but stayed on one end of field. This year the ref on one end has been acting like a center ref on one end and on the other end, the ref is positioned like an AR but still calling the game when play is at that end.
Just curious which is correct... I am thinking these refs are new to dual reffing based on the other ref giving them instructions. Just asking for my knowledge.

Depends on the mobility of the crew. Have to be able to cover offside on your end, but provide support on the other end. Only way t to learn is to dj it. If you are fortunate you work with a small number and have a comfort level. Best I've worked with covered my back on corners, PKs, breakaways, etc.
