loyola came out strong in the first half and capitalized on a mistake by the defense. they scored the first goal in the middle of the first half. the rest of the half was basically 50-50. in the second half st. freds woke up and put two in the goal quick. after that loyola was given many chances to come back because of a bad call by the ref and a pk. it was blocked by dilf, st. freds keeper, and after that st. freds defence dominated.

when you say dominated, did they keep it on the other side of the field from the goal they were defending, or did they just keep it out of the goal...? little more info on the second half after st.fred's goals were scored, please.

well when st freds stopper tryed to clear the ball, a loyola forward put his head down and tryed to stop the clear. the ref called a dangerous play or something, because he thought instead of kicking the ball that the stopper kicked the kid's face. he called a pk but it was blocked. for the last 20 or so minutes the ball was on st. freds defensiuve side of the field, but loyola didnt get but 1 or 2 shots on goal. their defence stopped pretty much every chance but the offense didnt have much possession.

i witnessed the whole st. freds-loyola game and loyola dominated for 70 out of the 80 minutes of soccer. loyola scored very quickley and then could not finish although given many chances by the warriors extremely permeable defense.
entering the 2nd half at 1-0 loyola, st. freds did indeed pick up the pace and score a legitamate header by beating a loyola marking back. However, minutes later on a warrior transition the defensive midfielder for loyola was pulled down to the ground by his shorts and then a ball was played forward to an offsides st. freds striker. the call recieved bad reactions even from fans pulling for the warriors from monroe. the foul was blatant and ridiculous but worst of all, unjustified.
Congratulations to st.freds but i hope for your success in the playoffs you dont face a team like loyola and have good refs.

Hey LCP, here's an idea...maybe after the 600th time of trying (and failing) to play longballs to a forward who is hobbled with a groin sprain you should come up with another idea in the attack! Connecting passes and not losing possession might be a place to start.
St. Fred's was the better team, #2 and #11 were dominating the LCP fullbacks and the Flyers simply got beat - plain and simple.
Sure, the refs were horrible but they usually are so you can't blame them. Just play the game and stop complaining.
St. Fred's beat LCP twice this year - so it's not like either game was a fluke.

sweeper5, you say you are dominating schools....st.fred's is 2A and what were the scores of those games again? 2-1 and 4-0? Plus, you lost to Magnet... Yeah, so where's this domination you speak so loudly of.
By the way, Loyola's sweeper is Cockrell #19...who's sweeper are you? the JV's or something?
I leave you with an old saying, Sweeper5. "It's better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." So basically, if you're gona talk all this mess about leavin people in your wake...I sure hope you can back it up (Which I personally don't think you can). Otherwise, you're going to look like one big fool. It would probably be better for you just to shut your mouth.

I don't see how anyone who went to this game could say that St. Frederick should have won. Loyola outpalyed them, but got scored by a cheap goal on a play that the refs should have blow dead.

St.Frederick wanted it more, played with more intensity and heart, played smart, and capitalized on almost all of their chances. They deserved the win without a doubt, Sharpshooter. However, the game easily could have swung the other way, if Loyola had played with any heart and played the kind of soccer they are capable of, but the fact is they didn't. St.Fred's did what was necessary to win.
