With the way the weather has been over here, Carencro because they play a more direct game and they have more speed than Catholic BR.

Yeah the weather is bad. I know Catholic BR plays a pocession game. It will be hard to pocess the ball in the weather and feild conditions we've been gettin lately. Carencro has good speed, and can also pocess the ball as well.
Can't say either team will win b/c of the weather. It's equal both ways.
Does any one know Catholic BR's seed in the playoffs?
ANY OTHER COMMENTS PLEASE POST THEM

I believe it is at 6:00pm Saturday. I initially thought Catholic may have an advantage. They play a possession/team game. They are playing at the the Burbank soccer complex which I believe have wide fields. If so, this type of field seems to bring out the best in their game (a la the St. Paul's tournament). However, with that said, I believe the weather may have an effect, minimizing the above, and making it more of a game of mistakes, one on one play, and possibly long ball type of play which may give Carencro the advantage. It also depends if Catholic High is full strength or not. Should be a good game. Good luck to both teams.

If Catholic comes out and played the game they are capable of, I have no doubt they can take the win. However, they will have to adjust to the field conditions, and perform better than they have previously performed in the 1st round of playoffs.

That's true about the fields at Burbank, the ground will still be pretty wet! Both teams will definatly have to adjust.

The feild conditions will definately effect both teams. Not too sure about the comment made about Carencros long ball style of play. I watch Dist. 3 and they pocess the ball well. I know for the Lafayette game, they switched there style of attack once they were up. From what I hear, Catholic BR plays a very good pocessive game. They ball will probably do some wicked stuff.
Any predictions on the score?
Carencro 3 Catholic BR 1

we have played against both teams and i feel like catholic is the better team but with the field conditions and menard and broussard up top catholic wont be able to handle them. carencro - catholic has 1 good back i think he plays on the right side, if ur facing the defense its the left side. catholic- watch out for number 31 and 24 up top. 24 has loads of speed and a nice shot , 31 has a great touch and footwork, also look out for 11 and 4 and 38 hitting the long balls in . 4 also will foul you cheap so be looking out,
since im from district 3 i hope cro wins but as for the score i have no prediction, good luck to both teams

I saw the Catholic vs BRHS game and I was really impressed with Catholic's style of play, even though they only pulled out a 1-0 victory. They play with lots of control, lots of one touch passing, and good transition. I'd say Catholic 2 Carencro 1, even though I haven't seen Carencro play.
Goat, probably not, unless there are any games absolutely worth seeing in Lafayette.

Catholic has a long history against district 3 in the playoffs and has an 8-5 record against district 3 teams. In the early years, Catholic eliminated Acadiana from the playoffs in 5 of 6 years. The sixth year they eliminated Lafayette. But things started to turn in 96 when Catholic beat Barbe in the 2nd round but then Lafayette beat Catholic in the 3rd round. Catholic tied Carencro 0-0 in 99 in the first round and beat them on a shootout. After that it has gone the other way with a 0-3 loss to Carencro in 2002 and 0-3 to Lafayette last year. What does this mean? Well, not much. Every year is different. Even thou Catholic has struggled in the playoffs as of late, they are very capable of beating anybody in the state as they proved it this year. They beat two defending state champions in Jesuit and St. Louis. They beat the Catholic League district champion, Rummel. They beat Northshore. The problem is that their district is weak and it is hard to get up to speed in the playoffs. Close games against Baton Rouge and St. Amant this year helped but the rest didn't. Everyone is healthy right now and district 3 is probably a tougher district than district 4 which makes the third place team there equal to a first place team here. My call is Catholic in a squeaker 3-2.
