Let's see if they get near the flack that Northshore got.
Is 17-0 to much, how about 15-0, 12-0 ? - Where do you draw the line.
Most of the verbal posters on here are from District 3, lets see what they say went one of their own runs the score up.

already posted what I have to say in the other thread....I will not comment anymore on Northshore, HLB, Lafayette or any other team.....I will only say this... the sport does NOT benefit, and is actually hurt by this type of disrespect to fellow players and teams, trying to build or rebuild a program. I am disappointed.

i was at the game and left when it was 9-0. i wish the lions whould have stopped there. i did see three lafayette high players kick the ball right to the goalie and smile as they ran back after the kick, (they could have easily put the ball in the net). i didn't see the last three goals and wish they hadn't scored them. to answer the question above i say stop at ten, and i wish the lions had!

Hey, coaches, how about teaching a little class and sportsmanship along with the heading drills? In 10 years it won't matter to most of these guys that they can hit the upper 90. Thanks to the many good coaches that have a positive influence on their players!

yeah, me too goat. It looked like after the tenth goal that they were only trying to score on headers. But the Lafayette keeper was playing the field and scored the twelth on his foot. The score came just before the final whistle and shouldn't have happened. There was no kickoff after it.
12-0 is very bad, but it could have been much worse. I got the same impression goat had about Lafayette's shots. Also, I could not imagine watching a game in which 5 more goals were scored. I felt bad enough watching a 12-0 game. A 17-0 game would have been excruciating. Not trying to make any excuses or justify anything. But, make no mistake, 12 and 17 are not nearly the same.

You have got to be kidding! 12 is not as bad as 17? You want to give us the freaken range as to how classless is classless?
WHAT A RIGHTEOUS ATTITUDE!!
But since I have read the coments above, I have adjusted my attitude as well. If a team is this lously & allowed in the state playoffs, they get what they deserve. Just plain pitiful.

Wrong... They get in the playoff and they are happy. Its a good victory for them just to get there. Then you want them to be blown out because they made it there... NO WAY!!
They higher the score over 10 goes the more classless the team gets

Right, tell that to the team that got slaughtered. I bet both teams are real happy.
Keep your double standard. There is no degree to classless. It is what it is. Grow up!

If a team is capable of blowing a team out 20-0... You telling me it should be done!! At the same you are making them kids on that team not to try again next year and keep up their hard work to better... giving respect during a game is something that should be done in all games

Maybe you aught to settle down & re-read what I first wrote. The sarcasm is dripping off my words.
Don't get caught up in the emotion if you can't understand the meaning of the post.

I was at the H.L.B vs Morgan City game that ended 19- 0. I don’t believe the coach was “classless”. He made subs to let some other players have a chance to score that would never have the chance. Some of the better players could have passed up some of the shots they made but I think it became a “shooting frenzy ”. I am sure the H.L.B players meet no disrespect. Unlike the players on John Ehret when H.L.B played them on Friday in the wild card game. The keeper flipped off the H.L.B players and was answered with a scoring shot by # 10.

Guys, I was at the game and I honestly wish that LHS hadn't ended up scoring as many goals. But there is no way the team was trying to run up the score--It was 5-0 after 20 minutes, and Belfour sent in the subs. Clearly the team was way backed off in the second half, and many scoring opportunties were not pressed. It's just hard to keep individuals, especially those who see limited playing time, from playing soccer when they get out on the field. I understand keeping the score down as a matter of sportsmanship, but would it have actually been better for Woodlawn if LHS had played possession keep-away for the last 60 minutes and made the Woodlawn kids chase the ball for the rest of the game? I think that is more of a put-down, and ends up creating a lot of frustration and fouls. Why not just have a mercy rule and let a team throw in the towel?

Here's what I think. Letting or making a team quit ahead of time is horrible. So is scoring so many goals. if it's not a clsoe game then after 5 goals start subbing. Then allow each "string" in for like 15 minutes a piece, if you have that many people. Scoring off of headers and volleys are the best way to go if it gets to 6-0. If it gets to 7-0 then put in 2nd or 3rd string defenders... whoever can hold the back and let all of the 1st string defenders score by putting them as forwards. I would rather lose fighting than a rule make me quit.

I think that to some teams it's worse to be playing a JV and still not getting anywhere. I'd rather get beat by a varsity team bad, then a jv team

no matter how u put it it is still not easy on a team who is being beat.. but if u think about it. if a team is makin u chase the ball all over then you look even worst than being beat 17 or 12-0... if you put in subs and the losing team scores.. who knows it might start a come back.. so its like you better expect to be put down if u are a good team and are playin a weak team...
we(HLB) play Lafayette our next game.. i hope its a closer game..

if a horrible team someway in hell makes it to the playoffs they deserve to be shown who their daddy is. woodlawn played with no class and deserved to be beaten that bad. every opportuninty they got they would try to take out our players. thats poor class not scoring to many goals. LHS all the way!

sorry to bring this thread back up guys but i was not able to get online most of saturday night and all of sunday.
well hdkiga i think reggina proves your point that todays player aren't like you were when you played. reggina i'd like to know "who's your daddy" so i can tell him he needs to teach you some manners. i have read many of your post,(most on another forum) and it seems to me all you do is talk trash. i hope your u-15 lighting team mates know how you are bringing them down with your smart mouth an attitude.
i can't for the life of me understand your post. woodlawn didn't have many if any cheap shots in the game, remember i was there and saw it to. when they tried to get physical with joey he either put them on the ground,(with legal charges), or he just out ran them. i know you are only 14 or 15 years old but please try and hold down the trash talking, i'm sure the varsity players don't appreciate a freshman making them look bad!

No one can tell what a coach says, unless you're on the team, but I play for the lafayette girls team. Any time we are beating a team 4 or 5-0, we can only score on crosses and everyone on the field has to touch the ball, unless of course you get the ball right in front of the goal with a wide open net.
