Now we seem to be on the topic of longest lasting cleat. To be honest, I still have my predators and they are in %100 shape. No busted eyelets for the laces, no toe holes between the leather and the soul, no broken studs. I have an early pair of predators, and they may be a lot better than the later models. The predators have changed through the years; whereas a shoe like the Copa mundials are the same year after year. I love copas, but they only last through a year of serious playing. I agree that if you spend more than $100 they should last. Many of you that are playing cannot afford to buy your own cleats. Because of that, you should try to get your cleats at the end of the buying season when you can get cleats from magazines at rates from %50 to %75 off. Also, try ebay as they are always good deals on ebay.

are you serious d-unit what kind of cleats do you have? because i would like to go out and grab me a pair of those snazzy cleats. those snazzy cleats i wear are some kind of nikes. i think air zoom. theres a pair just like them for $150, but if you go to academy sports at the mall, they have the cheap, fake, plastic version for $30. its a good deal.

ok first off...adidas cleats last the longest nike cleats will break but i love my orange vapors even though the sole is tearing apart from them ( the hole back of the "nike frame" ) secondly...eurosprt is by far not the best place to buy cleats... they have a good selection but if you look good you can find well better prices...predator mania 119.99 (any color) vapors 99.99 (most colors) thats just a few...im not talkin about ebay or any of that im talkin about actual stores you call your order into and get it shipped right to your door anyone who only looks at eurosport is crazy
pm me and i might tell you a good site or 2

Good Points W
You don't have to use eurosport, you can use other brands, but even eurosport will annually, usually only once a year have a good closeout sale. Here you can find decent deals. I bought some cool wet condition 6 stud Diadoras that were light when soaked in water and got them for 30 bucks. They were originally 99. In those cases you can afford to buy things. I myself, then got the shoes I wanted because when I saw Beckham and Carlos and other euro greats doing in competitions, I had to try them out. I bit the bullet and did it. What I did was bought those first year predators when they were going to the design change of the next year. Close out sales can kick butt. Also, many of you may be fortunate enough to Gulf Shores, Ala and visit their Nike and Umbro stores at the outlet mall. There you can pick up good seasonal deals.

i have a pair of nike total 90 and some predators and i like them much better than 50 dollar cleats. there is a huge difference in the touch you get from a more expensive cleat. maybe im just sensitive to the feel of cleats but they help. cleats can not make the player but they can help give him the truest touch.

Foot Comfort is essential in the game of soccer. For the guy who said his Kelme's had a nail showing through. Dude, you need some new cleats. I've been through that before. Do yourself a favor and buy you some new cleats. Even if they are Wal Mart brand, they are better than the best pair of cleats with a nail coming thourgh the sole. It doesn't matter how small it is, that shoe is going to hurt your feet.

The question is, how much footwear does a soccer player need to play soccer. I believe the fully outfitted soccer player needs a pair of dry weather molded cleats, a pair of wet weather 6 stud cleats, a pair of flats for indoor and hard ground training, and a pair of sandels for after playing or practicing. At the first sign of irregular or broken wear, the shoes should be thrown away and replaced. Shin guards should be given attention to as well. Shop and look for your most comfortable and try to restrict the blood flow through the ankles as much as possible. Remember, comfort of the feat is a major factor for an individual. If you have ever had to play under uncomfortable conditions with the footwear, then you know how it can take away from your game.

Personally, I think Nike cleats are the best. Especially as they pay me $70 million a year to wear them.

hmm, you know what i just think we should forget about the footwear, go barefooted, and get off the message boards and live and play like the little brazilian kids, it obviously worked for them.

I've never owned a pair of studs. Kind of wish I would have though during the wet games.

Yes, 6 stud cleats are ideal for wet soft grounds.

my cleats were $38 and they're a nike brand called Total 90. and in Eurosport mageizens they have sum that look just like the ones i have but the name has like one more number than mine. They cost like $150, so why not just buy the cheaper ones w/ one less number?? ;D

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but anyway, here's my take: I had a match last night (I play on a club team), and I decided not to go with my Predators, but my old Joma Morientes Oros from way back when. I think those are the best I've ever worn. They just feel tacky, when I kick. It seems like the balls almost hangs on them for an extra millisecond, to give me that little extra bit of control. That said, Predators are damned nice, too. You'd probably be best by finding a soccer specific store, like SouthCoast Soccer in Baton Rouge. I'm sure there's one close to where ever it is you're from. That way, you can try different ones on and play with a ball to get a good feel of the particular cleat.

Sorry about that. I accidentally hit control/v and copied something from my email. Oops.
