the only thing better than one crawfish dinner is five crawfish dinners!
Finals prediction Jesuit 1 v Rummel 0
Rummel makes it through bracket with great defense in whethered conditions so even LAF. can't score. Jesuit makes it through and wins because it just feels wrong. I mean three in a row. That means the freshman will have a huge pressure on them to do it every year of HS. Ya'll may not like it but watch. It's coming. Its almost inevitable.

Lafayette and CL in the finals........Lafayette puts points on the board and doesn't allow many.....since the loss to St. Louis at the St.Louis tourney, they have been on a roll. I agree Rummel has a great defense, I would venture to say they have the best in the division, but I think St. Paul will take care of that. I think Lafayette beats St. Paul in the semis....barely.
In the bottome half, a still underestimated CL once again proves it belongs by beating the legendary Jesuit and get this......at Tad Gormley. Acadiana wins a difficult game in the other quarter against Northshore and then travels to CL......I have to give CL the advantage at home.....CL wins in extra time......and for the first time since 98 the catholic league will not have a rep in the final game that is being played in their backyard.
finals - Lafayette was there last year and was about 6 inches from tying it up and going to OT. This year, no OT....Lafayette finishes what they wanted to do last year, and a new sheriff is finally in town. Lafayette wins its first state championship ever.
Hey, it could happen.

great post hdkiga, but you have the wrong team in the finals from the bottom of the bracket. i agree the state title will come back to dist. 3 but it will go to the only dist 3 team ever to win a state title! you got it!! THE ACADIANA WRECKIN RAMS!
just trying to get your goat hdkiga, right now i think anything is possible all eight teams have a solid chance at the title, and this is probably the first time we can say that!!

It wouldn't shock me at all if any of the 8 made it. I think Sulphur and Northshore winning state, I would be surprised with, but I wouldn't be absolutely shocked. I have just said Cl and LHS in the finals since the playoffs have started and I can't go back on what I said originally.

Lafayette may not have had the skill on offense last year that they have this year (they did have some talented offensive players last year, too) but last year's back line was better. Hebert, Belfour and Hoffpauir were awesome back there. I can't remember the number, I'm sure hdkjga knows, but they posted a ton of shutouts last year. They were really able to dictate the game from the back. Anyway, sorry to get off topic.

Northshore, hoping they win, have the offensive prowess to do it and have knocked off some good teams during district play (St. Paul's most notably) would have said Jesuit but would really like the trophy to come back to the Northshore no matter who gets it.

Whoever picked Northshore, I don't know hwat ya'll were thinking because Northshore doesn't have a chance vs. Acadiana... If they do win, they will be beat by Lafayette or Sulphur.

I am going to predict that CL upsets Jesuit and plays Rummel in the finals where Rummel beats Cl(3rd times a charm) for their first state title.

Sulphur - solid team most of the year, not great, but tough as nails. Came together at the right time. On fire now. I doubt anyone wants to play Sulphur right now. If the can keep it together fot three more games, they have it.

I think that can be said about every team left in the playoffs.......Acadiana is on a role, Lafayette is on a role, CL and Rummel, and St. Paul are on the biggest roles, Jesuit, Northshore, and Sulphur.

This is such an incredibly hard year to predict anything. I am going to say Jesuit just because they always turn it on in the big playoff games.
