this will be a great game. i have picked jesuit, (but reserved the right to change my mind before kickoff). if cl is going to win they will need to play their best soccer. everyone knows and has said jesuit has been there and done that so they have experiance on their side. of the four quarterfinal game this to me is the toughest call.

If this game lives up to the hype it has had in the last few weeks, it could be the best game of the playoffs.

This will be a very interesting game to watch and i will be attending it... Jesuit has ataken a loss to rummel and has beaten them 2. CL has beaten rummel 2 times... This DONT show ANYTHING because it is the past but is a reference to the teams history in that field.
CL also has a hard time getting pass round 3 and round 1 in the playoffs... They got past round 1 but they need past round 2 now...
In this game CL is defiantly the underdog and thats what I like about this game. The underdog in a close game feeds off of that and in my opinion put up a hell of fight because they aren't expected to come off with the win.
With CL being the underdog and feeding off of it I will take them winning the game 2-1. They have been unconsistant like i have read in a post, that is true, but with their inconsistantcy they always found a way to come out ahead and I think they will do that here... Will be a VERY good game

After watching CL play last night in Shreveport, I sure wish I could attend this playoff game. I think it will prove to be the best of the quarterfinal round. Sorry I have no prediction but wish both teams luck. Please keep us up north posted.

I love Jesuit in this game. 3-0, I know some of you may find this prediction off the wall. I feel that Jesuit is the team with something to prove, alot of you are writting them off. This is the 3x defending state champs & a play-off choke artist we are talking about. CL you are a very good team but in the end Jesuit will dominate most of this one. The Jesuit defense will be the MVPs of this game.
Jesuit 3 C. Lafourche 00

I agree with Crespo and that's why i am taking jesuit in this one. They definitely have a lot to prove, and i think they will, 3-1.

I agree with Crespo and that's why i am taking jesuit in this one. They definitely have a lot to prove, and i think they will, 3-1. You'll are correct Jesuit has something to prove, but so does CL. They have had problems crossing Round 3 mark every time they get this far. They have also donated their season to the senior that past away... I am not saying that CL is going to win, but at same time i am not saying they will lose.
CL has been underestimated all year even though they are inconsistant. They have been inconsistant one game and play perfect another, but as through their incosistantcy have managed to pull off victorys! So do we say that they played inconsitant or just say they knew what they had to do to get the job done???
Jesuit at same time is under the pressure to keep their title. I am sure they will have alot of fans at the game cheering them on. This game will come down to the will of wanting to bury the ball in back the net. It will be an exciting game to watch no matter who wins. I expect each keeper to knock some execelent shots down in mid-air as they battle it out for the final spot to move on.
Good luck to both teams this game

I have to go with Jesuit in this one. Score: 2-0, and it would not surprise me if the score is 4-0. Jesuit is playing in their own backyard, at Tad Gormley, their home field. This is a factor in a game like this. If Jesuit wins it gives us the exact same semifinal matchups as last year. All of that being said, I would love to CL pull it out.

Acadiana and Jesuit met the the quarters last year. Jesuit played Covington in the semis.

If anyone plans on beating either of these teams, they better not play "long ball". If you do, you will lose big time... Coaching goes a long way. Great coaches make great teams...

McScruff, you are right, I stand corrected. If Jesuit wins, is this how most of you felt things would turn out at the beginning of the year with these four teams? If not, who did most of you project as the final four back in early December?

Before the season started, I didn't expect Lafayette to be as good as they are. They lost a lot of seniors from last year's team. I never doubted that they could get where they are now, but I didn't expect them to be as good as they are.
Rummel kind of started slow and I don't think many people expected them to be in the semis. It seems like they really cranked it up a notch during and after the showcase.
Jesuit probably has the toughest task, because every year they are expected to win state. It is tough having every game be a huge game for your opponent. They definitely had the target on their back all year.
I didn't know what to expect from Central Lafourche this year (remember them?) They play Jesuit tonight in the QUARTERFINALS. I kind of thought that they were going to have a down year. I saw them in the Sulphur tournament and they were losing to St. Louis 2-0 and they came back and tied the game. That impressed me, but I still didn't know which half of the game was a better indicator of their ability. Now, they are the number one team in the state and have been playing either well enough to win or pretty good for the past month. So yeah, I guess sometime in January I realized that they were for real and expected them to be where they are today.
I expected Acadiana to be in the semis early in the year, but I started to doubt them during their mid-season slump. I am glad that they got it back together, because I always knew that they had the talent to make some noise in the playoffs.
I kind of always expected Brother Martin to be here, though. Sorry, St. paul's, but I never saw y'all play this year.

great post mcsruff i kind of feel the same way you did but with lafayette and acadiana in reverse. acadiana lost 6 starters 4 of which were 1st team all dist. lafayette lost some key starters but lets face it there talent pool is deeper than acadiana's.
i didn't see st.paul either but man did they come on strong or what. jesuit is jesuit and everyone knows what i mean by that. i did see cl making noise this year and i'm not suprised they are where they are. i know shrevedad may like this , i really thought ,(although you whouldn't know it by my post),that shreve was going to be a factor this year. i don't care what dist. you play in when you only give up 3 or four goals all year you are good. well got to go i just got the word jesuit beat CL 5-3.
