We got lots of snow on Saturday night, but unfortunately nothing stuck. It looked like a blizzard outside, and the size of the flakes were huge. It was plenty of fun, brought the kid out in all of us.

Oh I know, but seeing so much fall so fast. It was great to watch. I sat back in my house and just looked out the window. Couldn't get better than that.

I, for one, am glad it (the snow) stayed North of I 10. I lived in Michigan for 5 years and have had my lifetime worth of snow. It looks all pretty, but it's a royal PITA.

I grew up in North Dakota and saw more than enough snow to last a lifetime. I like to see it every other year when we go skiing. However, I wish every kid had the chance to spend 1 winter up north where they have lots of snow. Sled and tobaggen rides, snowmobiles, snowball fights, outdoor ice skating, shoveling snow off the driveway, jumping off the roof into a snowbank without your mother knowing about it, playing basketball in the driveway with only the snowbanks as out of bounds and needing two balls because they freeze up and won't bounce, those and other things that my kids don't get to do down here. Snow is a big deal here for my wife and kids. Usually means you get out of school. Best snow: three or four years ago during the Independence Bowl, it was snowing so hard you couldn't see the seats on the other side of the stadium, got home around 11 PM and the kids stayed out most of the night playing in the snow. That brought back lots of memories.

I use to live in Lake Charles, I've been in Austin for the last year. On Friday night we received 5 inches of snow. It didn't melt away completely until this morning. It actually stuck. I have seen snow one previous time in Lake Charles, but it melted as it hit the ground. It was very nice to get a chance to see this much snow.
