Ben Franklin 4, Salmen 0 Goals by Clinton Smith, Casey Contreary (2), and Peter Haines (on a reverse header in the 81st minute, in his first game back since breaking his collarbone). And yes, I mean with the back of his head.

that's crazy... yet awesome... did he intentionally use the back of his head.. haha - or was it a misjudged ball that resulted in him using the back of his head? its really not important, im just tryin to visualize this goal, it sounds pretty impressive

Although neither of them scored, i was very impressed with both of Salmen's forwards. I had seen Gino Ray play before but only at the soccer fields juggling and shooting. I was also very impressed with the other ones pace and ability. If im not mistaken the other one #10 is a sophmore, if so great player. And although Gino Ray didn't score they put like ten people on him and he still figured out a way to beat them.

I've seen Salmen play this year and it's too bad for those two great players, Gino and T because Salmen has absolutly no one else.

yeah, basically i just didn't see the supporting cast there, I know Curtis Thompson is pretty good, he's a freshman and plays on my premier team but he looked off against Ben Franklin. Out of the players out there Terrence and Gino were the only ones that really impressed. It seems like they were most of teh offense prescence for most of the year. I don't think ya'll have that many seniors though so ya'll definitely do have room to improve.

i would'nt say g. ray "beat" 10 men. he made some very nice moves, but each time he got around one player, another was there to pick him up, and force him away from the middle and take away the angles for any decent shots.
he did make a very nifty spin move around the 18 one time, but franklin's central defender spun with him and took the ball away.
if anything, i thought toward the end of the game he tried to do too much on his own. with another talented player like t up front with him, they should have spread out and tried to spread the defence. they couldn't have chanced leaving either one uncovered.
as it was, the attacks were usually just one man, and after a few close calls, the franklin defence just started playing back and waiting. as they came on, the defence would close on the lone attacker from all angles.

i think he beat ten people at a time just didn't get anywhere with it, no support at all from anyone other than Terrence

Footy365, you're right that the "supporting cast" wasn't there for the game. In fact, no one was playing the game that they are capable of, to include Gino and Terrence! Hence the loss to a very good team in Ben Franklin. As a coach, you are well aware of what will happen if your team doesn't come to play as expected. This is exactly what happened with Salmen. I wish you were able to observe them at other games during the season and when they were running on all cylinders. Rest assured, I think you would have been impressed with their overall quality of play and teamwork. Salmen won their first district title in school history and was undefeated, plus had 11 straight wins before this loss. It also should be mentioned that they were not shut out all season until the BF game. Just wasn't their night. Although Gino and Terrence were the main threat, they had a great supporting cast that kept the ball up the field and fed to them. In fact, Six were chosen to the all district 1st team and two to the 2nd. Not bad for a school that was nothing more than a practice squad, to most of their oppenents, just three years ago. Salmen continues to grow and get better. Work Curtis hard, he is a very talented player and the only starting freshman on the team! He definatly will be one of Salmen's leaders in the years to come!
