FIFA 2004... Hands down. Um. It's stylish, over 400 teams are playable with most major international tournaments, sans World Cup, of course. The control is very tight. The free kick engine has been improved upon from the last game, giving the player more control. The best new feature is "Off the ball control," which allows the user to send players on his team on runs, and control where the team mate runs to and where the ball is played. The soundtrack has a ton of songs, as well. Also, the AI is more sophisticated. There're a ton of awesome new features, but it's 5:17AM, and I'm going to bed.

Oh, and practice mode has finally been brought back. The last game it was in was the 1998 version (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, though).

It's not impossible to beat some one on the dibble. You just need to know how to do it.

It is pretty hard to beat people off the dribble, but I find that to be a pretty realistic feature. In World Cup, you could just dribble past everyone...that isn't realistic. Watch some FA matches on TV, if you dribble too much in traffic, the defender will take the ball from you. In FIFA 2004, you have to learn to beat players with passing and pick your spots to try and take the defender with the ball and turbo. I didn't like that at first, but now that I am comfortable with it, I love the game.

World Soccer Winning Eleven 7 International's gameplay is alot smother and looks better in my opinion. The only problem is with the amount of teams availible. FIFA 2004 has more teams. WSWE has quite afew less.

I really like the new FIFA game, obviously, but man, I agree with all the cats who are saying the indoor mode on 97/98 owned. I hope that's the next thing that's brought back.

I also agree that the indoor mode on 97 was awsome but I still think that the new FIFA is a better overall game.

no way pound for pound fifa 2004. I also noticed it's impossible to shake anyone, but everything else is improved. Practice mode, impeccable graphics, and career mode. You can buy and sell players. It's the best. I've got davids and van nistelrooy on real madrid. I am unstoppable...

without a doubt, the best game EVER is FIFA 1999 (2001 in a close second). The ONLY bad thing about those games is the fact that they don't have to free-kick feature and through balls. But, if you know how to play it, it's worth it. FIFA 2004's graphics are all the much better than previous ones.
