In the paper the other day, Lafayette's record was reported as 37-4. First of all, I know they lost to Acadiana twice, St. Louis, Carencro, and Brother Martin. Secondly, I don't think that they played 41 games this year. If I'm wrong, please post their results during the season.

If that is their record then that sets a state record for the most wins in a season. Vandebilt set the record back in 2002 with 33 wins.

Lafayette's record right now is 32-5.....if you count the 4 scrimmages with CL and BM before the jamboree they are 34-5-2. I don't count anything before the jamboree.
Northside tourney (4-1...lost in the semis) Sulphur Tourney (5-0 won) St. Louis (3-2...lost in finals) jamboree (1-0) exhibition (3-0.....STM twice and BM) District (12-2) playoffs (4-0 so far)
that means if they beat Jesuit, they will tie Vandy for most wins in a single season.

You said you don't count anything before the jamboree in the record which I agree with but what about the jamboree itself? Most teams don't count that in it's official record.

help me with my math but if you don't count the exhibition games and the jambouree my math says there record is 28 and 5. so what really is their record? i think the 32 and 5 is if you count everything. it really doesn't matter because which ever way you count the games you just need to add one more win to the numbers and that will be ther final record. if i am correct their final record will be 29-5. go lions!

no goat. hdkjga is right. Lafayette has played 37 games since the Jamboree(not counting the Jamboree).

the exhibition games(STM in November, STM in December, BM in December) were after the jamboree so they count. I included the jamboree in the 32-5 record. I have always counted the jamboree as the first official game. If you don't count it then you have 31-5 as the record.

Those scrimmages were on Nov 8 and the J-boree was on Nov 15.
But you are right about the record. My math was off. Doesn't really matter, though.

Also, it was my understanding that there were just two scrimmages. One against BM and one against CL, but they played one thirty minute half of each, followed by the second half of each. Either way you slice it, it was a weird format.

I just wasn't sure about the jamboree. I know that in football and baseball, the jamboree's are not counted in the official record by the LHSAA.

Goat, I completely disagree. The title won't mean squat if the LHSAA doesn't recognize the jamboree as a win! ;D
