These teams have been to the BIG DANCE as recently as last year. For conversational sake, what is the difference in each team this year vs. last years team? These are basically the same team as last years team. I know that some will say they are older, but each team graduated some key players yet these 4 are back again. I'd like to hear some other comments on why this years team can get the job done.

Lafayette lost 8 starters from last year. That's extremely tough on a team. THe reason they are doing so well this year is becasue they all know their roles on the field. Noone is trying to compete for a starting position. They are just playing soccer. Another reason Lafayette is so good this year, is because they are disciplined when it comes to shooting. Watch them warm up, everything is saved by the keeper or in the corner of the net. Fundamentals is the key and these four teams are very sound in the basic fundamentals of soccer.

I think the teams are very goal oriented. They keep their eye on the prize. They focus on the next game, they play smart and determined soccer. Oh yeah, they also have mad talent.

There is a big difference in this years Vandy team from last year. Vandy lost 10 of 11 starters from last years team. Last year they had a great defense. This year to me they are more of an attacking team on offense. Their defense is still good but not as good as the last 2 years. The juniors that were mainly subs on last years team really stepped it up this year and they had a big talent pool move up from 9th grade to 10th this year. They play with great discipline and take one game at a time. They should have a great team for a few more years to come.

m, you just summed up Lafayette's success perfectly, also.
