why is it that football is able to have organized practices and workouts over the summer, but high school soccer coaches are not able to "officially" meet with there players until Nov. 1st. It seems to me that organized practices for workouts and tactical training would improve the quality of the game on the field.
this would get in the way of club ball for some students, but at the same time, it would provide those players that don't play club a chance to improve their games. also, i read on another thread that texas high school allows players to play club and high school at the same time. coaches would understand a player missing a practice due to a club committment.

THIS IS A HUGE MISUNDERSTANDING.
High School soccer coaches CAN meet with their teams and do whatever they wish over the summer, except play games using the team's name. They can conduct regular practice and training sessions as they see fit.
Email the LHSAA they'll tell you. I did.
I don't know when this started, but you CAN meet. BUT as soon as school starts back you can't meet until the season begins.
