It was the great game, both teams had chances and Jesuit hit the post and put a lot of pressure on Laffy towards the end of the game but the Laffy goalkeeper and defenders came up big. Laffy goal was scored in a goalmouth scramble when about three or four shots were taken and was the only blemish on jesuit keeper Dane Gercia's sheet.

the game was pretty boring up until the last 15 minutes when jesuit put the pressure on. the first half was dominated by lafayette, with jesuit getting only a couple chances. the goal was scored at the end of the first half. the ball was shot, hit the crossbar, deflected down, and looked to me like it hit of a lafayette player's arm, and went in the goal. after the goal a couple jesuit players complained to the ref, saying it hit the players arm. the second half didn't have much action until the end, when jesuit started getting chances. they had a shot that hit the post and the ball bounced around in the box for a while, but lafayette cleared it.

It was a great match!===although I would have preferred at least 1 insurance goal in the early part of the second half. I hate exciting games---What's wrong with a run-away (such as 3-0) if its your team that is. All kidding aside, the Lion's defense rose to the occasion and shut down the Jays. The only disappointing display was the Jay's show of poor sportsmanship when the game announcer called for everyone to give the Lions a hand for winning the title. All but one of them sat on their hands and stared at the ground. I know the jebbies taught them better. See you next year back at Tad G!

It's kind of hard to be in the mood for applauding after you've lost the state championship. I really don't blame them.
As for Lafayette, Congratulations. I'm really happy that they won, and not Jesuit again. Look for them to repeat.

Great match! Both teams had some decent chances in the first half. Both goalies made some very nice stops in first half. It was difficult to tell just what happened on the goal. Doesn't help when you are 30 yards from the field. I thought Lafayette had more chances than Jesuit did the first half. #4 for Lafayette was able to really put the pressure on the Jesuit defense during the first half. He was playing in the midfield the second half and I thought there was a noticable decrease in the pressure applied to Jesuit's back line. Jesuit seemed to come alive immediately after Lafayette got their goal. Jesuit really put the pressure on the second half, but Lafayette's defense was able to hold them off. No problem with the keeper getting MVP. # 4 would have been second choice in my opinion. Congrats to Lafayette. I have read that they have a lot of kids coming back. If they do, I make them odds on favorites to repeat.

Congrats to the Lions!! I felt all along that the Jays were beatable this year and Lafayette pulled it off. Their defense had to come up big to record the shutout. The goal was on channel 4 sports last night and I didn't see where it came off a player's arm as some are claiming. Now it starts all over again, getting ready for next year. Hope it is half as exciting as this year has been.

in good manners and sportsmanship...that' s to say.
No excuses whatsoever to anyone who can applaud when their team wins and become unsportsmanlike when their team ends second. You show such poor sportsmanship by booing or by sitting on your hands, starring down when its time to congratulate the other team. Win or loose, the importance is to remain a winner in any circumstances and to be gracious winners even in a loss. The world will not remember who won or lost, but rather the attitude you showed during and after these precious moments of our lives.

hey imeg4fun, sorry I haven't posted my novella yet. I am in need of some detox time as we went down to Bourbon Street after the game.
It was a great game and I couldn't be prouder of Lafayette. Jesuit really showed a lot of skill, but in the end it was Lafayette's D that came out on top. That's really about all I have to say about the game right now. I think that TG is a great place for the game, but I agree with ShreveDad about being too far from the field.

The game was a really good game and both teams should be commended for making it to the finals in a bracket with really talented teams. Congrats to Lafayette! ! !
