Lafayette's jv team and freshman team all look promising for the years to come. I think that next the year the combination of returning varsity players and jv players moving up will be unstopable. Noone knows for sure hows its going to be played out, but in 2 years it will be the jv players and freshman on varisty. Then it will be just the freshman. I think that Lafayette High has a good chance at creating a dynasty here. What do yall think?

I think they will be a very strong team for years to come and about starting a dynasty next year.....I think it already started last year.

Lafayette's freshman team went undefeated this year like they have for 5 years straight so they got some talent is just depends on how they use it

while i agree that lafayette is the favored to win dist 3 and state next year i would like to remind you that there IS a team just down the road from ya'll that is always picked to come out behind lafayette, but seldom do. the rams will give lafayette all they want next year just like they always do.

true...i play for LHS and each year they always give a fight i also think the dynasty will last through next year and maybe the next...but im not too sure bout the year after, i feel they wont have as much talent as other teams later on.

I think Lafayette has the talent from the Varsity members returning as well as a few pick ups of the JV to remain competitive in the next year, and perhaps even 2 years in the future. I don't think the talent has developed from the Freshman team and some of the JV team enough to say that they'll be able to have a 4 peat chance. Maybe after watching them for another year more I'll change my mind but right now I haven't seen enough to make me think Lafayette could run a 4 peat.
P.S. Anyone know what the longest defending of the championship was and by whom?

Maybe 2 championships in a row....it's very hard winning 3 (Ask Jesuit and Vandebilt) much less 4. When you're at the top everyone is gunning for you. Verry verry tough.

i'm sure coach belfour would say STOP TALKING LIKE THIS!! all year long he stressed one game at a time. now some of his underclassmen are talking about 4 peats. i bet none of the starting varsity is talking like this. once again you have a team just down the road that may knock some sence into you the next time ya'll play.

you're right goat, but I am not a player so I will say it. 4-peat BABY!!!........just kidding. In all honesty, I think Lafayette will be the favorite next year for district and prob state. I know Acadiana year in and year out will contend with Lafayette, but I think next year will be one of those years when Lafayette really controls district. Acadiana loses a lot of key players. They keep the strength in their defense with Credeur and Hofland and they keep LeBlanc and Wilks(I think). Saboe is alright as long as you keep him in the offense, he doesn't trail back when he is in defense. I think what will put Lafayette over Acadiana next year is the play of the wings. Hardy and Ellender are two of the best I have seen come out of Lafayette and both return. Truth be known Lafayette's entire offense returns except for McNamara. Foreman will fill in for Pierce in the stopper position. Prejean will take over Menard's position, and Duhet is said to be an exceptional keeper to replace Los. THe only question mark is who will replace McNamara, but I think they already have someone waiting in the wings.....I said it last year that in 2 years Lafayette will win state and next year will probably be one of the strongest teams Lafayette will have fielded.

hdkiga, the returnning players for acadiana are leblanc, wilks, credeur, saboe, and latiolais. hofland is a senoir. i agee that on paper the lions will be the team to beat,(they always are), but remember they play in dist. 3. acadiana will have to replace 6 starters and their first 2 off the bench. the wing position will be a question mark for them. but you and i know that anything can and does happen when these two teams meet.
once again i think on paper the lions should be favored to repeat next year but to say 4 peat is a little bit over the edge even for a former lafayette grad. enjoy this one for now! will see what happens next year.

goat, I was just kidding about the 4-peat. I don't think anyone can look and predict what will happen beyond the next year.....people move and things happen......just clarifying for those who thought I was serious about a 4-peat.

hdkjga, who did you think was waiting in the wings to replace McNamara? I always thought that next year the center mid position would be Foreman's to lose with Zach McCardell playing stopper. Zach wore number 12 this year and played a good bit earlier in the season. I thought he looked promising. I think the reason his PT went down was because Brennan really steppped up his game and got his endurance up. Wyatt Hubble looked really good at times on the wing, maybe he can slide into the middle. I don't know about Hubble, but Foreman has pretty good vision for the middle and he's tough.
