University is a well coached team and on their home turf, plus their Goalie is insanely athletic and capable of going on the field to make a goal happen like they did with Newman. ASH is lacking that versatility. I vote University by 1 or 2. The game against Newman was very well fought by both teams and was good soccer, not dirty play. Hopefully that is how the Semi final will be played as well. Good Luck to both teams!

The first meeting was a very well played game that could have gone either way. It was played at Tad Gormley FWIW. ASH played a very good possession game with lots of hustle.
University's keeper is one of the best in the state at any level but does not get to show it very much. She will probably get that chance against ASH as she did against Newman.
I think University has the edge at home but ASH is never out of it until the final whistle is blown by the center. This is probably a 1 goal game either way with OT very possible and PKs not out of the question.

Two very evenly matched teams. The grass pitch should play to UHS' favor, but ASH comes in with an exceptional history in the playoffs. Toss a coin and hold your breathe. One goal will probably win it.

One goal will probably win it. I always love these pitch comments. A team practices 8 hours a week on natural grass and plays 1.5 hours match a week on turf, somehow they are a turf team! The only advantage here is that ASH has to travel.

Congrats to University on breaking through the intimidating DIII playoff barrier that is Sacred Heart. Must have been a great game and should be an entertaining final

it was a great game and unfortunate there had to be a loser because both teams played extremely hard. Either team could have won.

The only advantage here is that ASH has to travel. Truly not being controversial, but pitch according to a few players I spoke with DOES matter. Even if you play on turf once a week gives you an advantage of adjustment to the ball movement according to the four girls I asked. All of them say the ball moves extremely different on turf as opposed to grass and it usually takes a half to truly adjust if you are not accustomed to playing on it. Just their point of view and my curiosity after soooo many pitch comments on this blog.
