Way to go. Is this your last year together? How is the injured player? This is the last year before most of the team goes off to college. Mia Dubroc came back at halftime and was fine, she even played in the second half. The only sour note was Noelle Higginson getting a second yellow near the end of the game and will miss the first game at Nationals. The referee said she kicked the other player after the ball was gone, whereas Noelle didn't even know what the card was for and said she and the girl were just leaning into each other and she was trying to get her off of her, never kicked or stepped on her. Very unfortunate. Coach Macca ejected for his reaction to it, and will also miss the first game at nationals. All in the last 10 minutes of the game with the score at 4-1. Will be interesting to see the video.

Nationals is July 20-26 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The players' luncheon is on July 20, then pool play on July 21-23, followed by a day of rest, and semifinals and finals on the 25th and 26th. There will be 8 teams: the 4 regional champions, and the top 4 finishers from this season's USYS National League. These 8 teams will be split into two groups of 4 teams for the group stages, with the winner of each group playing the 2nd place finisher from the other group in the semifinals.

Just a correction on the individual goal tally. Alex Thomas had a total of 8 goals, 1 in the first 2 games, a hat-trick in the third, 2 in the Semi-Finals, and 1 in the Finals...
Congrats to the girls, and Coach Macca! Good Luck in OK!

Congrats to the girls, and Coach Macca! Good Luck in OK! Good catch. I pulled from the tournament leaderboard which still shows 7 for some reason, but she definitely had 8. My apologies Alex! Either way, great week for both her and the whole team! 8 seems to be the magic number as the team also had 8 different goal-scorers over the course of the 5 games. Some fantastic individual and collective performances to lead the team back to Nationals after narrowly missing out last year. Thanks for the good luck wishes!

The Mandeville Lakers U17G were the Frankenlakers this year due to most of the seniors and some of the juniors not being able to make the weekend due to prior plans. It was made up of 9 original team players, a couple of players from the second U17 team, a handful of U16's and two U14's. Amazing that they were able to get two wins and advance. Slaughtered in the quarterfinals by a Tampa Bay team ranked #1 in Region III. MSC pulls from a population of maybe 200,000, while our opponents pulled from 2 million, 5.5 million, 700,000 and 2.8 million. The two teams who beat them are playing today in the final.
