Does anyone know if it is required to be a part of LSA to compete in tournaments and in scrimmages? I want to start a travel team in our area (nearest club team is 70 miles away). Where I'm from you just put together a group of players and pay a tournament fee or a league fee and you're good to go. You can register your team under an existing club, just need to find a club that will allow it.

You can register a team under US Club soccer instead of with LSA (US Youth) most tournaments allow both types to participate. It’s all about being insured

Think they’re called NUU if you need help you could consider asking some of the coaches or board members

They have already formed a club(MissLou). Not sure it is active now or not but they played recreationally for last few years.
