There has been enough talk running up the score for a lifetime, but im glad to see its a hot topic...
What is it had led to, is what disappoints me... When teams start beating teams 12-0... They are saying that they couldn't stop scoring it was a shame... What kind of comment is this... We are wondering why soccer isn't getting any bigger in the United States like it is in other counties, yet we are critizing some of these high school soccer teams , who aren't of equal value, and saying its a shame they couldn't stop scoring?? I don't know about you, but after that i would be mad, and would question why i'm playing... Playing my heart out, yet they are critizing these new players...
Some reason i don't believe that at 12-0, OC couldn't stop scoring with their jv in... Cathlolic held theres to 5-0 in tournament play... I'm not critizing OC, im just saying i don't like the excuses...
Now im not saying that 12-0 is a bad score, and it really isn't compared to some scores you see these days... I am not ashamed that people do that... I just disagree with the comments going up along with it... Instead of comments like, its good to see a program trying to build itself and don't give up in the future... You here things like, "that team is disgrace to louisiana soccer" and such things of this...
Also you see alot of the refs being critized for missing a "key" play... What happen to "letting the kids play"? Again i know that you can't do this all the times, and refs do get bad at times... However, they are human, they aren't professionals, and most are still learning just like the players are still learning so ease back on it... You don't see them making enough to live off of to support there family's... Fact is, if they wouldn't be there you wouldn't have a game... Instead of being thankful they were worse or they were they so you can have a good time, we critize them over a win and a loss?? I thought this was a sport to have competive fun win or lose... Sure its always better to win, but winning isn't everything... If you thing it is, go talk to these players in the new programs losing consistantly 12-0 against quality oppenants and why they play the game... I am sure not a single 1 tells you 2 win....
Now that i got that out the way, i want to say this is not to critize any particular person, its just a few things that i have noticed throughout games... Not all of those things happen on this board but they do happen
