Division III District 2
Look at Deriders youth. The entire team except GK made it all district. Gk did not because they used 2 all year. Losing only one Sr. starter they could be strong in next couple of years!

Congrats to all the girls who were selected.
I would have cast a vote for Coach Matt Jacques from SSA. My second vote would have been Coach Brian Bertram from Northshore. These two coaches took first year teams to the finals. No offense to Coach Carly Hotard Pennington but her team finished fourth in District and did even make it to the quarter-final round of the playoffs. Head scratcher...

These two coaches took first year teams to the finals. No offense to Coach Carly Hotard Pennington but her team finished fourth in District and did even make it to the quarter-final round of the playoffs. Head scratcher... Fontainebleau had a very young team this year, with quite a few freshmen and sophomores playing significant roles. Plus, I don’t believe Fontainebleau currently has as many high-level club players as the Big Three in the district (SSA, Northshore, and Mandeville) or other area schools like Lakeshore and Northlake Christian. The district coaches, who made the selection, must have thought that Coach Pennington did more with the talent and experience she had this year and deserved the honor.

If I had to pick a team from all of the players available in this district, I think I'd take Waterhouse (and few others).

If I had to pick a team from all of the players available in this district, I think I'd take Waterhouse (and few others). Agreed. Waterhouse definitely earned 1st team placement over a few of the players on the list based on her skill and performance in big games. And where is your Finals MVP? If I recall she scored key goals in district games (Mandeville and Northshore) as well. She should get the nod over some of the more sentimental favorites.

Brit absolutely the right call. Without her Northshore finishes fourth in district and doesnt get out of the 1st round of playoffs.

Being a PJP guy, you probably have some good insight. Just trying to understand what Northshore is losing for next year.

Being a PJP guy, you probably have some good insight. Just trying to understand what Northshore is losing for next year. Paging 3 Berls. Northshore will lose only 2 seniors, Brit and Katie Grubbs. Grubbs tore her ACL in the Mt Carmel game and we are wishing her the best during her recovery. Next year, Northshore will have 11 seniors and 10 of the 11 starters from this past championship game. Word is that there are some outstanding incoming freshmen players that will be joining us next year too. Without Brit, hopefully we can finish 5 or 6 in the district and have a shot to make the playoffs.
