Good luck Northshore. What is really ashamed is that the LHSAA continues to punish the public schools that are bound by their districts but allow the private and catholic schools to form super teams driven by their over zealous parents and allow them to recruit from all over the state if they wanted. If the shoe was on the other foot they would be going nuts. One day the people in charge will wake up and come to their senses and put a stop to this like they did with the other high school sports in Louisiana. At that time half of those kids will be playing in public schools because most of them chose their school because they had winning soccer programs.

My historical knowledge base is limited...but tell that to Lakeshore, Northshore , or Mandeville. All public schools, and all doing well in the soccer world at the moment!
It comes down to quality club soccer and playing quality matches year round. The public school district limits are real for sure, but IMO it is less about public vs private. It is about club.
Is it Friday yet?

Solid chart work there Ross... Can not deny that. My point above was about the current soccer landscape. We did not go to private school for the soccer program alone.

Parents rightly seek out the best academic avenue for their kids. I also don't doubt that private/choice schools sometimes offer the better choice for individual athletes to develop their skills and potentially progress to the next level. This is all on the individual level, however. Is this good for high school soccer as a whole, though? Our current system, for better or for worse, does seem to provide a significant competitive advantage to private/choice schools (at least in girls soccer--have't taken a hard look at the boys side, yet). The numbers bear this out. How do we level the field? (no pun intended)

The bottom line is your schools should be playing for a championship in a private/catholic category just like football and baseball.

I would bet my life savings (Granted its’ not much, I have drunk too many White Russians) that the girls of Northshore and their coach would rather play the best than easily beat teams that are not on their level. Go Northshore.

At this point, only the Northshore girls can prevent a private select sweep of the boys/girls LHSAA playoffs. Let’s get it on.

Scotch, Bourbon, vodka and Whiskey. I do all the food groups. I have no dog in this hunt. Wish both teams well and hopefully a game free of injuries. I think Northshore has a real shot tomorrow. Saw the game played at Lakeshore on YouTube and Northshore had their opportunities. I predict SSA dad’s win in a landslide in the tailgating. Besides that, all bets are off for the game. I can drink to that, even if it is a White Russian.
