When everything goes according to plan, the eight seed plays the one seed in the quarter-finals. Pope John Paul made Gallstar a winner in their last game by pounding an outstanding Country Day team. Now you might ask why is Gallstar suddenly a fan of the Pope John Paul school? Sit back and allow Gallstar to explain. Pope John Paul lost the first three times I picked them. Their coach offered me substantial concession money if I would merely pick against them. Gallstar refuses Free nachos and cannot be bribed, especially when he sees a team right on the edge of greatness. PJP is a sleeper this year, and after the beat down they put on Country Day, it’s time for them to waltz into Episcopal and fulfill a Gallstar Prophecy!
Episcopal is led by coach Kiran. Is there a better coach in the D-4? Maybe! If their is a better one he must be incredible because this guy can coach. Not only has his team garnered the number 1 seed but he and his wife had a baby at the very start of the season. Try being a new dad and a soccer coach to the very high demanding Episcopal team. Prior to Coach Kiran those expectations weren’t quiet to this level. Episcopal got that first win over Dunham and although it wasn’t pretty it was a W. Many teams in other Divisions this year have been shown an early exit so the playoffs are about one thing. Advancing!
Looking at both teams first playoff game I find PJP to be peaking at the perfect moment. Gallstar is going to call for a 3-2 upset in favor of PJP. If they win Gallstar will be 3-3 on the season and will not stop picking them until the title Is in hand.

I would say PJP is not a sleeper. They were young last year and started slow and came on strong at the end last year, from what I remember, and folks were expecting great things of them this year.
However, I think is Episcopal is too much at their home turf. EHS 3-1

Vs Newman: EHS 1-0 W, PJP 1-4 L Vs Christ Ep: EHS 5-0 W, PJP 0-2 L Vs Holy Cross: EHS 1-1 T, PJP 1-3 L
So, yep, that works out to about 3-1 EHS.

Gallstar, I sent you an extra large order of concession stand nachos with the "deluxe cheese" from a can (that's what it says on the can at least) with extra jalapeno's through Venom or one of those money exchange apps and it was returned. What does PJP have to do to get you to stop picking us (the pressure)?! Take a lesson from this seasoned observer of records and comparable opponents above. PJP has a mountain to climb against an amazing Episcopal squad. I have watched them play parts of three matches in person and there is some really good film of them playing Dunham on the fantastic Dunham Broadcasting Network (may be the best HS soccer match coverage/commentators I have ever heard). They are deserving of number one ranking, well coached, talented, organized, athletic, deep, etc, etc! The very young PJP squad will have to play their best match ever to try and make it a game. As always, hope for good weather, and good health (PJP fighting through a flu outbreak within the squad as well). Keep up the good work.

Great game by the jags. You could tell they are used to creating in the final third but just too hard with field so muddy. Sorry to see the citicism on playing physically. Im gonna say you just meant muddy. EHS won the air game and thats what you needed to win here today. 2-1 Knights.

PJP great season and you have much to be proud of. Gallstar loved watching you guys battle all season long and you’ve never been defeated in life until you stop trying. The clock may blow final with an unfavorable score but the fact that you guys played all the way to the very end speaks volume of your character. Play life with the same style and you seniors give back to the sport. It's merely a new chapter and giving back is far more rewarding!
Great season!

My boys, the Jags played their hearts and souls out against a fine and deserving Episcopal squad. A coach cannot ask for more. Gallstar, thanks for bringing a vibe back to the boards, you made them fun. Gallstar thanks for the confidence in picking us (showing respect to my boys) and the fun banter this season. I plan on watching a few matches here in the next couple of weeks especially some of my fellow SYSC club coaches. I hope to make a couple of the state championship matches. We graduate 5 wonderful seniors who will all be missed but we will especially miss the 2 who have started for most of their careers. Good news for PJP, we return 9 of the 11, have some ineligibles that become eligible for next season who will contribute, my large sophomore class gets to grow and mature some more, so look for PJP to make some noise again next season. Episcopal, all the best in your next match. Many many thanks to my parents who travel well with our boys and bring the noise every time we play, God Bless and Go Jags!
