For the second straight year, an Ascension Parish public school will travel over to St. Paul for a state semifinal match. The irony of this is not missed on how similar this run by Dutchtown is to the Gators of a year ago. The Griffins were runners up in their district just as the Gators were last year. Dutchtown found a way to avenge their earlier loss to Jesuit and properly settled the forfeit that placed them in the fourth spot. They've played St. Paul once this season and fell by a margin of 4-1. The most likely outcome will be a St. Paul victory, but that isn't written in blood or stone. It's just a predictor based upon past events to analyze a future unknown. The best player in Louisiana soccer for 2019-2020 is not very debatable, and he's a Griffin. He's by no means a one-trick pony Because Dutchtown Has multiple Players that Can play At a very high level, the Griffins will need first to believe they can win. Once they've got a proper mindset, the challenge is only left to their physical attributes. That's a challenge for the coaches, and fortunately for Dutchtown, they have got superb staff. Believe and achieve!
St Paul has been tested by their first two matches, well kind of. Sulphur played them tight while Lafayette left it all on the field. 3-1 and 2-0 is nothing to be embarrassed about when playing a team of St. Paul's class. The only chance one may have to best the wolves is to make the game ugly after a quick goal. This isn't an ideal strategy because St. Paul is a very different type of surgeon. They can delicately weave a goal by completing a 10-15 pass build-up or they can play direct and outrun you. Talking about all that St. Paul can do is a list as long as a 5-year-old Christmas wishes. The only weakness one may find is their coach's attire, and that's debatable because it's his expression Of coaching style.
The best recipe to make the finals was to be the 2 or 3 seed. Dutchtown’s the 4 seed so they’ll get let go a week earlier. It’s just a matter of time before St. Paul crunches all the teams.
Gallstar predicts 4-1 in favor of The Wolves!

Can't wait to watch this one. Dutchtown has been the best of the public schools this year IMO. If you can survive St. Paul in the first 10 minutes of each half then you have a chance. That being said... St. Paul by 2.

Whoa..... Are you telling me St. Paul's hasn't already been declared state champions? They have.... but LHSAA is making everyone go through the motions. Kinda like our February Frenzy contest, St Paul's has been given the title of GRAND CHAMPION too

I'm pretty sure that no one here at St.Pauls feels crowned or is taking anything for granted. Some of this senior class were on the team for our 2018 finals loss. We will be as prepared as possible for our next opponent and hope to match teams that are playing with 120% of their ability... which seems to be the only modus operandi to get one to the next level. We are additionally motivated by the 2/5s of repsondants who picked Lafayette to win and the 1/3rd of Nelson rater's who are going with the Griffs.

Not now or maybe now and to the game? Give us a full start to finish how you determine which leg goes in first. This could be helpful to Moss and Dyer. I'm sorry about so many picking against you. I know this tweaks you a bit but use the extra motivation to your advantage. When you play Catholic in the finals I think you ought to dress 42 kids so That your bench is equal in sheer numbers. Geaux Wolves. Man I've missed saying this.

BTW Gallstar, I enjoyed reading your end of the season requiem on St.Amant and your son's high school career. I felt the same way when my jeans wearing son graduated in 2018. And I also want to second or quadruple your comments about the STA and BR coaches. Its tough to find two better coaches or role models than Adrian and Richard...passionate yet compassionate, their teams get better as the season goes on, its more than just a game - but not too much more, etc. They're definitely doing it the right way.

They only care that the LHSAA is doing their job, which you verify they are. Good job fellow. Keep up the good work Sport.
