I am new to Louisiana high school soccer. This past season at Fontainebleau was my first experience with all things LHSAA. I am still in the process of learning all the rules and regulations. I have coached high school teams in a few other states prior to moving here. The high school athletic associations in those states clearly defined start and end dates for strength and conditioning sessions and summer training sessions. I am trying to figure out if LHSAA allows these periods and, if so, what their start and end dates are. I would like to believe I read fairly well but, I can't seem to find that info anywhere. Any information anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.
Thanks. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey coach, have at the strength and conditioning sessions year round if you want, you just can't have a ball in the area. And the summer is also free to train. There are dates somewhere which usually correspond to end and beginning of the school year. Most of my boys and I assume yours too will be on club teams and if they win state, they train through regionals which gets you to July. I usually have them play pick up games twice a week, if they're in town, until August when club starts again. I know some schools that do weights/ training during the summer though. Sean Moser

Coach, Section 4 of the LHSAA Handbook has guidelines on off-season and summer conditioning: LHSAA Handbook Section 4 -- Sports SeasonsSection 18 of the Handbook is specific to soccer and gives calendar dates, etc.: LHSAA Handbook Section 18 -- SoccerAs the parent of a former Fontainebleau boys' soccer player (class of 2016) I wish you lots of success in building a strong program. Go Dawgs!

Thanks for the info coach. I appreciate it. Of course, not too long after I blasted this question out, I was able to find the specific info in the handbook! I have no idea how I missed it the last couple of times I looked through the handbook. I am still not too familiar with how the club seasons run around here, so that info is definitely helpful. Thank you for that.
Congratulations on your entire season and state championship. You have a really great group of young athletes over there. Fun to watch those guys play.

Thank you for this. I appreciate it. As I mentioned in my response to Moser, I stumbled across this info 5 minutes after bugging everyone with the question. Always seems to work out that way. No idea how I missed it the last couple of times I looked through the handbook.
I do have one more quick question, the rules state, "Summer activities for all sports shall begin the 46th week, which is the first Sunday following the last LHSAA State Championship." The "last LHSAA State Championship" is in reference to the state championship for whatever sport plays the last championship at very the end of the school year and not the soccer state championship, am I reading that correctly?
Thanks again for all the help.

That is correct. Baseball is the last sport to have its state championship, and the 46th week starts on Sunday, May 17.
