Why is this district so geographically spread out?

Why is this district so geographically spread out? Good question. On the Girls side, it’s the 3 Ascension Parish teams (Dtown, St. Amant and EA) and the 3 Livingston Parish teams (Denham Springs, Walker and Live Oak). For the boys, Live Oak is Div II so it couldn’t be exactly like the girls but maybe a Central - BR could be added?

Why is this district so geographically spread out? Because the LHSAA doesn't believe in your "school taught" geography! Look at these 2 districts in DIII: District 6: Lusher Charter (New Orleans) De La Salle (New Orleans) Sophie B. Wright (New Orleans) Haynes Academy (Metairie) Patrick F. Taylor (Westwego) Morgan City Lutcher E.D. White (Thibodaux) District 7: Sci Academy (New Orleans) NOMMA (New Orleans - Westbank) Archbishop Hannan (Covington) Kenner Discovery Pearl River Vandebilt Catholic (Houma) Now tell me how any of that makes sense.

Our two districts are some of the worst planned in the state. They make no sense.

Our two districts are some of the worst planned in the state. They make no sense. Do coaches have a voice with LHSAA on any of this?

LHSSA is hooked on new math/geography. It's like someone made the districts they wanted and just shook up the ones that were leftover and dumped them on a big checkerboard

So what's the first tie breaker? Head to Head? In theory St Amant could cancel the Thibodaux beating and still win district based on head to head vs Dutchtown. Doubt they will but some teams would avoid the covid/injury risk of a game with no benefit

Short rant:
I see your point, but Coach Adrian and St. Amant have always shown class when they have played us and I am sure it will be the same tomorrow night. Believe it or not, my guys look forward to playing the teams in this district including St. Amant, regardless of what the final score will be or what our record is. So yeah they might beat us and it might be a game with no benefit to them in the long run, but both teams will go out there to play and compete. My guys go out and do they best they can each night. And some nights, especially in this district, we fall short. Our team is improving and has made great strides, but so are the other teams in this district which makes it even harder to close the already wide gap.
So yeah, St. Amant could cancel tomorrow night and still win district. But my guess is they won't. And IMO that speaks volumes about who they are as coaches and players and to their integrity to not just us but the sport as a whole.

I'm sure they will but considering we have teams refusing to even let opposing fans into their stadiums to watch games (I'm still amazed by this), class isn't exactly top priority anymore. We have also had discussions about pulling players out of classes and putting them in online only in order to avoid the histrionics that lead to quarantining healthy teenagers. Strange days these are ETA - My comment was more related to china virus hysteria

Well Thibodaux did do one thing a lot of schools have not - they scored first vs Dutchtown on a 40 yard bomb and had a lead on them
