Loyola at home this time with a full 80 mins. I think the Shreve streak ends.

Good size crowd with a big line at the gate. Playoff atmosphere I’ll do my best but I’m not Kevin.

First 8 minutes back and forth with only 1 shot on goal by Shreve easy save. First game Shreve’s top scorer wasn’t playing. This game Shreve head coach not available.

Next 8 minutes with Shreve having most of the possession And each team putting the ball on frame once with both being easy saves.

13 left in first possession has evened out with still no serious threat at either goal

Halftime 0-0 Shreve has one serious attack, with Loyola keeper sliding through the ball and holding on.
Loyola can’t breakdown Shreve defense. Junior willow Snider clearing everything
Pace has been fast with very little subbing by either team. Could come down to the fittest team.

End of 1st half. Score 0-0. Captain Shreve controlling the ball more efficiently. Loyola had a slight hiccup with talking to each other. Both teams playing great. Don’t know the actual shot count for either team but for Shreve shot count is close to 3 or 4, and loyola is 1 or 2.

28 left 0-0 Loyola pushing more this half with 1 serious push ending in a weak shot. Loyola 3 shots thus far Shreve 4 one 1 had a chance
Shreve catches a weak yellow, foul yes card no.

10 minutes left still 1-0 Loyola still controlling the game.
Ref misses hand ball in the box then a player being pulled down in the box. Both in Loyola box.

Final 1-0
Well played by both teams. Chippy in the second half.
Uneven officiating hurt Shreve some but No one needs to hang their head down. A tie seemed the deserved result based on play, but soccer doesn’t always work that way, especially in such a up and down game. Fun game to watch.

Well for starters, booting the ball out every time It comes near does not equate great defense. Loyola had more possession throughout. The refs called it pretty fairly. An intentional shove by a Shreve defender that gets a yellow card is not a bad call. Looked a lot less lopsided than the commentating here would like it to seem like.

In fact all 3 were fouls deserving of calls (only the third deserved a yellow IMO) but I’m not the ref. That calls that had an affect were the missed handball, that these blind eyes saw clear as day (and anyone who knows me knows my sight sucks) followed by the missed pull down in the box immediately after the ball was cleared and resent back in the box. Both very clear misses. As far as possession goes, clearly Shreve had a big advantage in the first half, and clearly Loyola had a big advantage in the second half, to equal roughly even possession. But we can agree to disagree on those.

At the end of the night it was a fun game to watch.
