the first half of this game was real fun to watch. i thought como controlled the game for the first 30 min. lafayettes score came about 30 min in. blake hardy playing on the wing where he should be recieved a great pass and made a great shot to take the 1-0 lead. como had several good chances in the first half but could not find the net. the keeper for lafayette had two real nice saves as well.
the second half was totally dominated by lafayette. it looked like como was unorganized the entire half. lafayette won most of the balls and really moved the ball well. great game by the lions. good luck to both teams except against the undefeated rams.

Seemed that the Comeaux midfielders were playing to far towards their offensive third crowding their attack and allowing LHS to maintain possession in the middle third...Just seemed that way to me.
There was a bit of a lull in the tempo of the game at the beginning of the second half, but then LHS came to life and just started controlling possession in the midfield and was just too much for Comeaux to handle. Time of possession in the first half was fairly even with the edge going to LHS. They just erupted with a flurry at around the midway point of the second half and put it away quite convincingly. They looked solid pretty much throughout the field...Comeaux did have some good opportunities but just couldn't put much pressure on the net and LHS pretty much controlled possession in the midfield in the second half and applied substantial offensive pressure...
Good game up until LHS got cranked up...Broussard played hard, but he and White just couldn't get it going. I know they are disappointed because they are great competitors. It's hard to tell good kids who work so hard that losing is OK, so I won't...but I know they played hard the whole game and never gave up...

Sounds like Comeaux just peaked early on in the season and hasn't gotten much better since, while everybody else has progressed. Are they the new Sulphur of District 3?

Nah thats not it. We actually played a pretty good game in my mind...we moved the ball well and created some descent opportunities. I wish i couldve gotten a couple of those back and done things a little different, but dont be fooled by the score. It only reflects the last 15 - 20 minutes of the game. The rest of the game was high tempo and back and forth. Good game tho too Lafayette.

I agree with soccerstud and he is correct in that the breakdown came midway through the second half. It was a momentum thing. The game just turned...
I'd really like to hear why Comeaux seemed to leave the midfield open or if anyone who went to the game thought they did. I thought it allowed LHS to counter too easily...Soccerstud looked like he was doing most of the chasing.

main thing was injuries (this is not an excuse...just a fact). we had a couple of guys out due to injury which caused some guys to play possitions they are not used to. Noones fault, just a part of life. That and the constant chaseing one of the most skilled and fastest teams in the state around the field for 80 minutes started to add up. Im proud of all the guys who played tho, they gave it thier all and i thank them for the effort they gave to me and the rest of the team.

good game...Seth Johnson had a good write up in the Advertiser. All the facts aren't exactly correct, but: www.theadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050113/SPORTS/501130338/1006Since I can't add anything to what has been said about the game, I'll say this: Comeaux's fans are great. You players are VERY lucky to have such a large and vocal following. I hope you appreciate them. Last night's game might as well have been played at Comeaux because Comeaux's fans were twice as loud as Lafayette's. I don't get it...I guess the Lafayette students think that it's not cool to yell or something. Good luck to Comeaux in the future. I hope y'all are able to get healthy for the playoffs so you can do some damage there.

Of course, this is the response I'd expect from you since you play for Comeaux. I'd say the same thing if I was on the team that lost.

Fish, I kind of agree with stud. The game really wasn't as lopsided as the 5-0 score would indicate. The first half was virtually a deadlock. Comeaux had some chances that they couldn't finish and Ghandi made a handful of really good saves. I think Comeaux got tired in the middle part of the second half, possibly due to some of the injuies that have been talked about, and before they knew it the score was 5-0. They played the final 15 minutes with renewed energy(inspired by pride is my guess) and got a couple more chances. Lafayette's 4 second half goals probably came in a 10-15 minute span.

it wasn't only from an unbiased fan but also lhssoccerfan(assuming he is a fan for lafyette) also said the score did not reflect the play of the game

i went to the game and was wondering if john boatner quit because after the 5th goal i saw him throw off his gloves and take his jersey off and leave the field and then he seemed to be talking to the coach for the rest of the game away from everyone else.

i am not andrew carrier i am kahn and it doesnt matter if im the best player on the TEAM what matters is our TEAM plays together and that how we win. when we have injuries to our starting 11 no matter who it is it hurts us. so dont try and dump on me/us because we dont have the raw talent of you guys. we play our game the way we play it

No need for the bickering gentlemen. Also ghandi...u won the game and deservingly so, but i would watch yourself as to not get too overconfident. That could be LHS's only downfall.
Also, injuries were not the main cause of us losing. It was a small minor detail. You know as well as i do that if we finished a couple of opportunities like both times we beat yall, the game would have ended a bit different. Congrats on the win, but dont think its over yet. I will be hopeing to meet you guys again in the playoffs.
