It was a good game played hard and aggressively by both teams. You guys are all great athletes!
As for the CHS goalie, a young man who takes great pride in his performance as well as that of his team, he cannot be blamed, nor blame himself, for being emotional about a situation that all of a sudden, when the game had been relatively close, suddenly slips away and gets out of control.
I hope that the player realizes that his managment of the situation, although understandable from a young competitors standpoint, was not the best thing for his team at that point. I think he probably does at this point. And I trust he didn't give up on his season and his team by quitting, which would be a tragedy.
I also hope that the Coach had the compassion to handle the situation in a fashion that was not detrimental to the player, maybe even deferring a more serious conversation until emotions were a little settled down, but positive and at the same time getting the player to realize that he made a mistake. I commend him for his performance...He was definitely under the gun...

oooooo...........low blow lhssoccerfan, that one kinda hurt If district stays the way it is as far as seeding, Comeaux will prob. travel to Shreve/Caddo. History says Catholic BR, but 1-2 gets a WC this year and I think 3-3 will be it. If Comeaux were to meet up with Lafayette in the playoffs, it would be in the semis. That would mean that Lafayette would have to beat a Catholic/Mandeville/St. Paul in the quarters and Comeaux would have to get past Shreve/Caddo in the first round and a probable Brother Martin in the quarters. A lot has to happen before then. Just some things to look forward to, maybe.

No need for the bickering gentlemen. Also ghandi...u won the game and deservingly so, but i would watch yourself as to not get too overconfident. That could be LHS's only downfall. Also, injuries were not the main cause of us losing. It was a small minor detail. You know as well as do that if we finished a couple of opportunities like both times we beat yall, the game would have ended a bit different. Congrats on the win, but dont think its over yet. I will be hopeing to meet you guys again in the playoffs. I do not speak for all of Lafayette, but rather just myself. In no way am I overconfident. We lost to you guys twice, and we were not about to let you guys 3-peat. Sorry if I came off offensive, because, naturally, that certainly is not my style ( Puntastic! ). I, and others, have a new respect for Comeaux. It just took us beating you guys in order for us to show that respect. Looking forward to the playoff rematch.

Congrats to laff for coming away with the victory. But u guys really shouldnt try to be all bigheaded about it now . i mean really comeaux and laffayette have defeated each other once in district play so what is there to brag about. Just be good sports and wait for the playoffs to show ur emotions on the field. Both teams played a great game but como was jus outplayed in the end.(Belfour that was really cool wen u tried to punk out the fans lol) i liked that ! Just consider these two teams a great rivalry and have fun! Yall have to admit tha Comeaux fans were ready though! lol

Now that was two sportsmanlike posts...
I don't want to get religious here, but at the end of the movie "The Devil's Advocate" starring Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino as "The Devil," Al Pacino makes the statement, "Vanity, definitely my favorite sin!" Great message...it is the truth!
As for the CHS fans, they were having so much fun, I wanted to go down there and get painted up myself...they are a great group! The LHS student body fans weren't even close...somebody needs to lite a fire under those guys!

Our soccer sponser was the loudest one in the Lafayette crowd. The Lafayette fans will learn in due time. Maybe the Comeaux fans could hold some seminars on self-confidence? I think once LHS gets past the " I'm here to socialize " mental block, it will be a new crowd.

And kudos to her for ripping into that bunch. It was pretty comical to hear her threaten to talk to all of their teachers and give them a bad grade in "participation." She dished out a pretty good tongue lashing...

Reallistically, Comeaux vs. Lafayette isn't a rivalry much less a great one. Lafayette/Acadiana is a good rivalry. Also, Lafayette fans were jazzed up in the past. Now after 2 straight finals appearance and a state championship, Lafayette is expected to win almost every game. Not an excuse, just a guess at a reason why Lafayette's fans aren't as rowdy as Comeuax's. I have a feeling though that Comeaux's fan base will dwindle come next year.

haha yeah that was funny. I'm with you Ghandi...everytime I looked over at the Lafayette student section half of them had their backs to the filed talking to people...or playing around with their cell phones.

Congrats to LHS. Too bad about the injuries for CHS. That does help explain the lopsided score.
Still, LHS won. In the standings, that's all that really matters.
