2-0 half.
Messi with a PK goal and di Maria with a goal.
Argentina are in full control and France look lifeless. France have already subbed out Giroux and Dembele before the half ended.
France seems to be effected by their sickness in that they are not their usual selves.
So far, not a great final, but who knows? Maybe that changes in the second half.
Argentina are playing a time wasting kill the game tactic.

Deciding factors so far: -Argentine players are winning their 1v1’s, especially DiMaria down that left side. -Mbappe, Greisman and Giroud practically non existent… -Argentina’s defense and tracking back has been exceptional -Argentina is showing France how to one touch pass and movement in space. -Messi has stepped to the stage whereas Mbappe is watching from the audience.

Argentina on its heals. Insane how the momentum has absolutely flipped to France.

Now this game will take on a feel unlike the first 80 minutes. France down a lot of subs. Will there be a game winner late in stoppage time? Argentina have not been close to a goal in quite some time. Momentum is all France’s after waking up and equalizing.

Looks like Argentina ran out of gas, thus losing the 1v1 and tracking players in space. That’s all Mbappe needed to start burning down the house.
DiMaria is older yes…but not for sure I would have subbed him out. He was most definitely a deciding player that made a difference.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda is always in the past.

Extra time half 2-2. Dramatic ending coming for sure. Argentina had some great chances at the end of extra time half 1.

Well…. The momentum shifted to Argentina with a fresh sub making the difference.
Argentina had more opportunities in that first OT.
How will the 2nd unfold?? A clear winner or go into PKs?

Dramatic last saves for each team at the end of extra time. MBappe took on four in the box before ref blows whistle.
Dramatic final after a lackluster start. Both teams were trying to win it at the end, meaning going forward, attacking, and both coming close to winning it at the end of time.
Penalty Shoot out
