Great news for the Lafayette area! Agree. Opens up opportunities for players from both clubs to get to Elite-64 and MLS Next. A lot of talent spread around that area.

Congrats to both programs for coming together in unity! It's a good day for soccer in Lafayette!

Is it really a good thing? From what i know they were both solid clubs already. Sure it helps make there top teams stronger... But when there is no competition, i find the clubs think more about themselves then the players. I think having competing clubs makes each club better and gives families options.

The leadership involved is top notch and I think they will provide more opportunities for both clubs. A united Lafayette brings up the rest of the state too?

What did this really look like after tryouts and team formation?
Is the top team in each age really the best of Cajun and Dynamo for that age? Or did some ages kind of keep the previous Cajun and Dynamo splits?

I worked their Rush showcase last weekend and some of those teams looked pretty solid, I think I overheard a few of the parents saying they didn't recognize some of the kids because they merged

The 19U team played LSUE last night. I was told that they are NOT playing in GSPL and instead traveling to play local college teams. I think this is a great strategy for this age group. Kudos to the coaching staff for giving these boys more opportunities to be seen by colleges.

LSUE 6 Rush 0 The Rush 19U pulled out of the NPL league, Gulf States Premier League to play colleges instead. I think they are still playing in LCSL, though.

Didn't see much difference between the 2007 Dynamo from last year and the 2007 Krewe team this year. Same results against 2008 TDP as last year.

Didn't see much difference between the 2007 Dynamo from last year and the 2007 Krewe team this year. Same results against 2008 TDP as last year. I personally think it's too early too tell. A big club merge like this is going to be similar to the inauguration of TDP. The first year (especially season), in my opinion, was not quite indicative of what was to come. You had talented youth coming together to form a "team" but they were still in the "my club" mentality and mindset. There hasn't been enough time for these teams to practice, much less form team bonds together, especially if it was a big change within the main lineup.

I can't speak to the other teams, but the majority of the players for the 2007's were from Dynamo.

I'm sure it will be different from age to age, like I assume the top Krewe Rush 08s will mostly be from Rush. 07s did pickup some quality players from that Rush team though...

The team will be good once they get practice time. I believe what you saw is just the gap that has occurred over the last few seasons between TDP and club teams.

Most of the top players from each club were finding the way to get together. Some ages at Rush, some at Dynamo.
