I’m curious if anyone has had similar issues with referees this season or any other season. Obviously as a parent I NEVER want my child to talk back to a referee (adult period). I do not in any circumstance condone it. Several games this year our team has had a player yellow carded for talking back to a ref (as they should). Two weeks ago one of my sons was given a yellow after he watched an obvious foul on a player of ours get overlooked, and asked the ref “why is that not a foul?”. The ref blew the whistle pulled the yellow and said “get the he@@ off my field”. Now my son was wrong to shout back at him Hinch resulted in a red, and I’m not defending the talking back at all. What I am noticing and hearing from both of my sons as well as other players from our team, is constant foul language being hurled at the boys such as “shut the f@@@ up and play” “shut the h@@@ up and play”, or of our boys raise their hands asking for a call several refs have replied with variations of “no that’s BS or something like it. If we as parents are to try and teach our boys to control their mouths (coaches trying to do so as well), then why are the reds allowed to use such language? It’s worse this year than last from what I’ve heard. If this were college sports I’d get it, o played college baseball and believe me it was commonplace. But this has no place in HS sports especially from refs.

You should address your concerns with the coach, principal, or AD.

You should address your concerns with the coach, principal, or AD. They all know about it. That’s part of the issue. No one is willing to rake it further. At this point in the season it’s a non-issue now. Just sad that the kids on the field are expected to tie the line with language yet some refs seem to be ok with using language that would result in a card for a player.
