its not that hot. Mississippi College, Millsaps, and Louisana college now that a decent coach is in place are all nice places to get an education while playing a higher level soccer than you have before. however, all programs are headed different directions and have past history of results. look in to that and you'll anwser your question.

decent coach? You obviously dont know much about the coach thats been hired at LC. He's on the National Coaching Staff just to name one credential, maybe you should look into that b4 you label him as decent

Ms. College has a young team, they only graduated 1 Sr. starter. They were competitive in every game. Another year together and they will very good. They do need, in my opinion, a forward in the mold of Jeremy Wimer or John Michels, some one who can fight off defenders and score, i.e. Wayne Rooney

I did hear L.C. is getting a new coach, i was told he from england Supposedly Mark Godwin will be taking the helm at L.C., but my understanding is that he will be doing it more out of necessity(LC's need for a coach) than desire(his). Hope thats not the case, but knowing LC's lack of serious committment to funding a quality soccer coach in the past, I wouldn't look for Godwin to stay long.Mark is a quality coach though, and definitley will upgrade LC.

sorry to burst ur bubble, but mark godwin is not the new head coach at lc, and it is to my understanding that the new coach is not doing this out of necessity, but b/c he desires to be the coach at lc the way any other coach desires to at there respective program, so the statement about them not being there long will prove to be false, lc will be a program like anyother collegeiate program. and yes, mark is a quality coach

HAHA........I guess they will be as good as Duke next year....or UNC.....or whoever you want to fill in the blank spot with. Wake up please. Either tell us who the "new head coach" is that will bring lc to the upper echelon of college soccer or stop saying you know who he is....or she....come on man! You are showing us nothing but telling us everything....did your kid sign to play there? or are you the new head coach that's going to "make the 180?" I'm with coachray on this one. say what you know or I am calling bs. and yes....it's already been stated that mark is a quality coach...so Mark, if it's you... no offense....unless you are " poptartsrgood".....in that case...well your a fool.

L.C. has made a decision on the administrative level to upgrade it's efforts in soccer. They realize they are one of two schools offering soccer in La. and they have not taken advantage of that. They realize they have a hotbed of soccer to choose from, but no one takes them seriously. They are also looking at upgrading their football/soccer fields and facilities.
Going to a DIII school to play is not as degrading as people make it out to be. Many D-3 schools have better programs than D-2 and yes D-1. Some D-1, D-2 programs don't fully fund their soccer programs. Thus, limiting what they can offer. Men's soccer already does not match women's in the number that can be offered, and yet some programs still do not fill that number.
D-3 can offer discounts on the tuition through a number of programs. Sometimes beating that "athletic scholarship" at a D-1 or D-2 school. Look at the academics and the program. I see many positive things happening at many of these D-3 schools.
Also, going D-3 can be a nice stepping stone for some to move up. Getting an education from a top academic institution, while being able to play, it doesn't get any better than that.
