A few years ago I would've said that Nish's 9-1 formation was pretty effective for keeping teams out of the net. haha. But it is tough to argue with the numbers against quality competition, so jesuit takes the cake.

Obviously no one posting in here has seen East Ascensions defense this year. so far in the playoffs they have completely shut down every offense they've faced (Deridders goals were on corner kicks) I think they are going to surprise everyone.

deridders goals were on coner kicks!!!! boy you said a mouthful with that. weren't those goals scored against the defense?? or did EA put their offensive player back for the coners and move the defense up. a goal is a goal is a goal.

I agree with you....... BUT when will people start to give credit to some smaller soccer programs for their achievement? EA is not a DI or DIII team, the Spartans are a DII team... too bad for them, they play in the worst division in the state, so no matter how hard they're working and trying to gain some recognition - they're just poo!! FACT about HS soccer in the state of Louisiana - unless you're from New Orleans or Lafayette area (obviously the 2 best places for HS soccer), it does NOT matter what you achieve... you're just no good and people will remind you that every opportunity they have!! EA is a small public school in Ascension Parish with a bunch of good guys working their bottom off, and for the second year in a row they have a shot at the state title! Even now... the only thing you hear is the state championship should have been between STM & Vandy if LHSAA would not have screwed the barckets and if STM was still in.................... a bunch of IF!! The fact is EA made it... the only public school (not from Lafayette) out of the 6 teams in the finals! As far as defense is concerned - I'll give it to you goat - EA may not have the best defense and yes they gave up 2 goals on CK against DeRidder... but they shutout St Michaels and Ben Franklin during the playoffs (I know I know, those 2 teams are just DII and not worth a F... - sarcasm), and shutout 11 other teams during the regular season (UHigh, Lee, etc... I guess they're all bad anyway). Congrats to the teams of DII District 2, to Lee, Tara, St Michaels, Uhigh, Episcopal... yall had a great season and deserve some recognition!!!!!!! I just needed to vent some frustrations... still love yall ;D GO SPARTANS

theres a reason nobody gives dII teams any credit, because they just arent as good. theres also a reason people dont pay attention to teams not from lafayette or new orleans... because they just arent as good... no offense they work just as hard but they cant keep up with dI and good dIII teams. And you say they are the only team in the finals not form lafayette or new orleans area but im guessing your forgetting about saint louis...

St Louis has been / is / will be a "private" power house... And you misread me... sometimes, it would be nice if people could recognize effort and hard work in other places, other district and in another division... So because they're not as good or not coming from N.O. or Lafayette, they don't deserve any credit??? HS soccer should not only be about soccer... but why waste my time arguing with kids, teenagers or parents! I said what I had to say... take it or leave it, you won't change my view

" You're right a goal is a goal but besides the two corners they scored they didnt get anywhere near the goal. you can't always blame a defense for a goal on a corner considering theres other players in the box besides the 3/4 def backs. next time try to spell "coRner" right before you make a smart comment

brado i'm sorry i am not a great typest, because of that i often misspell words. i was just making a point that it doesn't matter how the team scores if they score it is against the defense, right?
for the record i will be pulling for EA, i have never been a big vandy fan. oh and thank you for giving me credit for a smart comment, i thought it was right on target as well, lol.

Whata bout Acadiana's defence. They started off rough but when they finally moved people around and got people to when they went, their defence did really well going into the playoffs and throughout the playoffs.

i say vandy has the best defense! edw, vandy? As much as I like the Houma-Thibodaux area, I am not buying that they have the best defense in the state, even if you would combine the two.
