... Mmm... hard to pick up ONE best player in Div. II District 4. I think each team has quality players, so here is my picks (and sorry if I dunno the names...)
- Zachary: 0-4 in district / 1-12-0 overall#1 - he's everywhere, got good foot skills and the drive to never stop.
#18 - played sweeper very well against EA and was always at the right place at the right moment.
GK - new to the position I think and made some great saves on Thursday night against the Spartans.
- McKinley: 1-3 in district / 1-9-1 overall#2 - their biggest threat, he's strong, fast and hard to contain with some excellent foot skills... if he could finish better, he would be an extremely dangerous player and he's still a Sophomore (I think?).
#40 - played up top and is quite fast, decent foot skills but lack the finishing touches too.
#16 - impressed me a lot today against EA, made some very smart & quick decisions at midfield.
- Lee HS: 3-1 in district / 11-4-1 overall... where do I start... I still believe that Lee is one of the most underrated team in the metro BR area, team made up of 12 different nationalities with great talent!!
#? Jaciel - some of the best foot skills I've seen, he will drive any defense crazy... and he can finish!
#? Mani - he's big, tall, fast and got foot skills... I almost forgot: he got a rocket shot. He can control midfield very well and makes some good decisions.
#? Wesley - a killer shot and some great foot work. He played on the left last year (where I think he's the most dangerous) but this year he had to play at different positions... For me, he still got one the most amazing goal in the playoffs last year against DeRidder!
- EA: 4-0 in district / 13-6-0 overall... hard task for me to nominate a best player on the team I coach!
* I think the entire defensive group (Greaud, Hill & Guillory) led by Carey Gautreaux (senior captain) is solid, they posted 9 shutouts so far this season and they're backed up by 2 quality GK (Smith & Leodler).
* The midfield is quite interesting: Torres, Ruiz, Vallin & Landaiche are quality players and all have scoring abilities (they share 18 of 50 goals for the season).
* EA does not have a sole scorer but 2 fast and skilled forwards (Navarro & Zubia) who share so far 29 out of the 50 goals scored this season.
I think the best advantage of EA is the quality of the bench with 7 or 8 players who can be used in rotation in most games...
District 4 is definitely not the strongest in Division II, I think District 1 or District 2 are more competitive and have more quality teams... But District 4 and District 5 represent quite well the Metro BR area in Division II!
