O.k. with all this talk about ineligible players, I have a question. There is a girl, who started at one school, participated in preseason conditioning, made the JV team, and i think played in a game. OK, then she moved to another school in the same district, and plays for the new schools Varsity team. Is she considered ineligible to play?? Please advise, we are confussed about this whole situation.

Please advise, we are confussed about this whole situation. Would have to know more... Is the school that she is currently at her home zone school? Was she attending a non public school earlier and is now at the public school that she is zoned for? Was she at a wrong school and is now at the right one? There are many factors that could determine whether this is legal or not...

What about younger players, i.e. 8th graders playing JV at an 8 thru 12 school? A student not in grades 9-12 can play LHSAA sports only if the jr high, middle school is under the same principal. SO if the jr. high student goes to the jr. high of Opelousas Catholic, he can play for the varsity or JV team as long as the principal is the same of both high school and junior high school. Even if the campuses are separated, as long as the principal is the same of both campuses, the younger student can play. The eligibility clock starts your first day of your first freshman year.

this is a little more info from my previous question.... the girl i was talking about in an early post Lived in a public school district, in D1, made the team, played a game, then moved to another public school distict, which is only 10 min. away. Also in the same district. she now plays varsity for that team. I thought that you had to sit out 1 year before you play? she moved from one public school, to another. moved from one home to another home. Please advise.

I guess that this means ST is disqualified for the play offs and that HLB will probably be in

I am confused (again say you?). Are we talking about South Terrebonne's BOYS' or GIRLS' team here. This is a Boys' soccer thread, but I only read about a potentially ineligible girl. What's going on here?

The ineligible player is a guy from STHS. LSU was talking about something totally different.

So STHS was playing a middle-school student?

So STHS was playing a middle-school student? No the player residence was in Terrebonne's school district, but went to South Terrebonne High School. It is my understanding that they have a place of residence in both school districts, however their primary one was in Terrebonne's which led to the disquilification.

It is kind of a raw deal for the kids that were eligible.

This could have some WC placement ramifications. has Thibodaux been to the playoffs in 5A before, and if so, where did they go? Could Thibodaux be a candidate to go Lafayette, as they are further west than any of the other participant schools in District 7? If so, that could move some WC to different places. Also, if West Monroe beats Ruston tonight, the Rebels will have a shot at making the playoffs. Could we see a swing of the WC teams from Baton Rouge (Dutchtown, St Amant) to the Northshore or towards New Orleans? Might be possible--keep in mind that LHSAA has redistricted Dtown and St Amant to a more river parishes District next year--would they be willing to send those teams to that area for the playoffs? District 4 #2 Woodlawn is preset with District 6 #2 this year, so a precedent is there. Thoughts?

HLB and Thibodaux are only about 10 minutes away from each other. HLB is located in Gray, which is in between Houma and Thibodaux.
