I noticed that there were some high school players trying out for the Baton Rouge Capitals semi-pro team and I am concerned about what would that do to their eligibility to play high school ball next year. Has anyone brought this up to the LHSAA to get a written ruling on whether that will not interfere with their remaining eligibility.
This may be something pretty serious.
Any comments?

It'd only make them ineligible if they were paid right? I don't think it's an issue, because you can opt out of being paid.

Chris Denuna played for shellschockers when he was a junior in high school. Can't think of the player up front from south america who was also a junior.
Josey last year was a freshman from Grace King? Or was he a sophomore?
I know Memphis Express had a soph several years ago.

When you sign for a PDL team, the registration is an amateur form. This means that no eligibilty rules are being broken for high school or collegiate players.

I've got a question. Can the Shellshockers pay any of their players? Or are they all ametuer?

All high school and collegiate players are amateur. All players get uniforms, training uniforms, travel kit, hotel accomodations, travel (bus or flight), and meals that are paid for. They do not receive any payments for playing in games. If players do receive a stipend then it for work, i.e. soccer camps.

True if a player accepts money for playing in an official capacity he/she is deemed professional. But let me stress for the last time. If you sign a registration form to play in the PDL it is a amateur form. There is no professional form for the PDL. If pro's come to the PDL to play then they have to be released by the organization they were associated with to regain amateur status.
