Lafayette is defenatly still a contender. They are going through alot of regrouping and moving people around and people playing positions they don't normally play. They also are adapting to a style of play none of them have played before. It will take them a while to get it down and they are doing a great job so far. They may not look good now but come state...watch out

Cro is struggling with no true keeper and missing a key defender. But don't count them out

Dutchtown could still be a player inside their own district and possibly could make a push deep into the playoffs because they get up for big games especially. Lafayette on the other hand i think is on the way down. I was not impressed with their play at all this weekend and having seen St. Thomas More and Acadiana Lafayette is at best the 3rd best team out of lafayette.

Truthfully told, it is quite early to eliminate any team from the state contender categories. Lafayette is a solid force, but they are still trying to find a rythm. When they are on, its brilliant futbol, but when the team isn't finding the rhythm they need, it's a bad day for them. Carencro I haven't seen yet this year, but I have heard that they are a team with talent and heart, but without a true keeper it will be hard for them in the playoffs. But like I said earlier, the season is still young, that keeper can be trained by then. Dutchtown is a team with heart. Undeniably, this team plays hard and plays strong. I didn't see any one player that stood out above the rest, but as a team they find the ball well together.

I agree that it is too early to eliminate Carencro, Dutchtown, and especially Lafayette from title contention. But its not too early to include St. Thomas More in the discussion of the best team in Division I. This might be the best team that STM has ever fielded, including the year they won state.

How many of their starters (STM's) play for the Arsenal?

Don't forget that Lafayette always plays for February. Unless there is a major meltdown, which I am sure won't happen, Lafayette will be in the playoffs. That's when the fun starts.
As for Lafayette's slow start, Coach Cart is not only trying out new things to see what sticks and what doesn't for now, he is also trying to build for the long term. Not since Coach Belfour have I seen this much foresight being put into the shaping of the team. Lafayette will be a contender and maybe surprise a lot of people before the end of the season.

Lafayette will be in the playoffs and will do well if they start to play better as a team. They are playing in the weak half of the old dist 3. Cro being the only team that might be able to play with them this year. I keep hearing about the keeper for cro not being real good at this point in the season but come on guys the keeper is the last defender, cro looks to be giving up a lot of goals which tells me they may have a weak keeper and a weak back line and midfield. This is only based on the scores I have seen on this board. I am sure Kurt will have his team ready to play when the games have real meaning!
