You were at the game today? What did you think about that hit the center ref put on # 4 from Vandy? I've never seen a referee run up to and throw a body block on a player. What was he thinking? I was under the concession tent most of the day drinking an R.C. Cola and eating skipperjack.

What tent? I was disappointed Mandeville could not represent the northshore better than they did, especially with a new coach and supposedly new attitude. We played poorly this weekend, I know. But Mandeville proved themselves overrated once again by letting their tempers get the best of them. What is the excuse this year?

Ben Franklin scored the lone goal of the final in the 79th minute to claim the championship title over Vandebilt Catholic. Congratulations to both teams for some wonderful displays of skill and teammanship. Ben Franklin defeated Caddo Magnet in the opening bracket game and tied Archbishop Rummel and Saint Paul to earn a bid in the semi-final where it defeated Jesuit 1-0 with a golden goal. Vandebilt Catholic defeated Baton Rouge, Covington and Central Lafourche before claiming a late goal against Hahnville to advance to the title match.

To end the confusion, I assign officials on behalf of the North Lake Ponchartrain Soccer Referee Association. We are contracted to assign for St Paul's, Covington, Slidell, Fontainebleau, and St. Scholastica, as well as any tournaments these schools host.
My attempt in assigning is simple, I put the most qualified officials on the matches. Using the USSF grades, I attempt to place a National referee (03), then state 1 (05), then state 2 (06), then referee class 1(07) on the matches. Unless the situation is unavoidable, I try not to use referee class 02 (08) on the center of any match, due to experience.
I also take into considerations conflicts that officials have, such as children at the schools, recent graduates at a school, etc. We also use 3 officials at each match, unless the school specifically requests a dual.
I sure hope this helps to end everyones speculation.
